Monday, March 17, 11:30 a.m., Eastsound
— from Tony Lee —
Monday, March 17th, is the fourteenth annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Eastsound. So, if you are Irish, wish to be Irish or grateful that you’re not Irish, please assemble at 11:30 a.m. in the Island Market parking lot.
We will set off at noon, walk up Prune Alley to School St., hang a left and walk south to Main St, hang another left and another left to where we started.
Harry Patton, who is ninety-one and a half years old, has asked for a ride in the parade. He then wants to go to the White Horse Pub, “chase” colleens, down a couple of pints and sing the auld songs.
Kevin O’Brien will be our Grand Marshall.

I love it! I’m there! “Erin go bragh!”
Sorry we won’t be there with the Land Rover Tony….we’ll be on our way to the Southwest! Have fun and sing a song for us at The Lower! Patty & Jim
So great to see this picture of my Dad, who died in October. He had such a great time being Grand Marshall…Thanks, Tony!
I object to the appropriation of my people’s culture and the use of its symbols and rituals without appropriate respect. Only the Irish can understand Irishness and it is presumptuous and insensitive for non-Irish to be parading or wearing green or drinking (good) beer on our holy day. Please respect our spiritual traditions.
Kidding. We Irish still have a sense of humor. But no green beer, please–that really IS a sacrilege!
