Friends of Moran Park Annual Clean Up Come help out at the annual park clean up sponsored by the Friends of Moran. 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. meet at the Day Use Shelter. A light lunch will be provided along with an environmental education lecture. Bring gloves and rakes if you have them. History Matinee with Jane Barfoot-Hodde & Tom Welch 3 – 5 pm @ the Lundeen Room, Orcas Senior Center). In a continuing monthly series sponsored by the Orcas Island Historical Museum, two of the island’s most seasoned historians will share the stage. Jane (Willis) Barfoot-Hodde was born on the Willis family homestead near Obstruction Pass in 1913. Tom Welch was raised on Shaw Island and retired to Orcas Island after a career in business. He has served on the boards of several community organizations, including the Orcas Museum, and compiled all the historical information for the book Images of America: Orcas Island, published by Arcadia.
