Small Business Workshop 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. San Juan County Economic Development Council will present a free all-day workshop for small businesses and entrepreneurs. Sponsored by the Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce and the Outlook Inn in Eastsound,.

Special Spring Concert with Gabriel Kahane and Rob Moose 8 p.m. at Bredouw Barn, Proceeds benefit the Funhouse. Free Health Screenings 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Island Market Sponsored by the Orcas Island Lions Club, the screenings are available free of charge.  Children and Teens are welcome if accompanied by parents. Since 1997, this professionally equipped mobile unit has traveled the Northwest providing vision, hearing, glaucoma, diabetes, and blood pressure screening to more than 30,000 people annually. The screening unit is able to keep its service free through the efforts of civic-minded volunteers, local Lions Club sponsorship, and the Northwest Lions Foundation for Sight & Hearing. Prevention Town Hall Meeting at the Orcas Senior Center. 5:30 p.m. free chili dinner; 6 p.m. Hosted by Orcas Island Prevention Partnership – a Community Coalition – this is the community’s opportunity to participate in round table discussions on two important topics effecting life on Orcas – Underage Drinking and Teen Sexuality – Education and Resources.    Although walk-in participation is welcome, call in advance to reserve a spot for a meal and participation in this important community event.  376-1547

Earth Day Parade sponsored by the Orcas High School Environmental Club. Parade starts at the Orcas School at 1 p.m.

Telling Your Journey Story as a Part of History, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Funhouse. In this entertaining workshop, you will learn how to write or draw your journey story, even if you are not an author or artist. Partnered with the Smithsonian Institute, Humanities Washington, and the Orcas Island Historical Society, The Funhouse invites you to come and take part in this piece of history. All stories will be kept in a book at the Orcas Island Historical Museum so don’t be left out of this historic event! DVSAS 5K Run/Walk April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services is putting on the 2nd Annual 5k Run/Walk . Form a team and sign up — the theme is “Be the Solution.” Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and the race starts at 10 a.m. in the covered play area outside the public school.
