Guided Walk on Hogback PreserveIn conjunction with the San Juan Preservation Trust (SJPT), the Land Bank invites you to a guided walk on Hog Back Preserve. The preserve protects one of the best examples of a native-grass prairie remaining on Orcas Island, plus the views are fantastic out to the east side of the archipelago. The hike in to the preserve is via the Moran State Park’s SE boundary trail. Meet at the intersection of Pt. Lawrence and Obstruction Pass roads, then we will carpool to the site. The hike is about 3/4 of a mile and is strenuous. The Land Bank holds a conservation easement on this land and the SJPT retains ownership. For more information please call 378-4402.
