Poetry Workshop at Doe Bay Resort Join Artsmith for a special poetry workshop with Seattle poet Judith Roche, whose third book Wisdom of the Body (2007) won the American Book Award.  Roche be offering a 3-hour workshop which is open to all experience levels from 1 to 4 p.m. Call 376-2291 for more information.

Free Movie at Doe Bay Café. This week features “No Impact Man: The Documentary” about a family that goes green on a yearlong crusade to make a no net impact on the environment in this engaging documentary. Among their activities: eating only locally grown organic food, generating no trash except for compost and using no carbon-fueled transportation. At 7:30 p.m. Along with regular meal selections, Sunday evenings the Doe Bay Café offers half price bottles of wine and free popcorn. 376-8059

Easter Puppet Performances at several locations and times. “About Face” Mask Exhibit at Orcas Center, Reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. David Densmore’s mask works in the Orcas Center lobby, work from private collections and from the studios of Orcas Island artists  featured in the Madrona Room. Densmore will speak about his work in the lobby at 6 p.m., followed by masked dancers performing to live music. Bring your own mask to wear or make one while you’re at the reception. Saturday, April 3

Lions Easter Egg Hunt at Moran State Park, beginning at 10 a.m. sharp! It will take place at the Cascade Lake Picnic Area, rain or shine. Over 1,000 colored eggs will be hidden in specially marked areas for toddlers, pre-schoolers, grade schoolers and tweens. Egg hunters should bring their own baskets.

Moran Park Cleanup meet at the picnic shelter by the Fish Hatchery (there will be signs posted)  at 10 a.m. Lunch at 12:30 provided, sponsored by the Friends of Moran Park assisted by Orcas High School Key Club. Bring rakes, shovels and gloves — Park Rangers will offer direction and supervision.
