Cancer Support Group meeting at the Orcas Island Community Church Library at 7 p.m. This month, on August 12th, Taryn Somers from the American Cancer Society will be sharing services and resources available to us living on the island. The group is open to anyone in the community who currently has cancer, is a cancer survivor, knows someone with cancer or is a caretaker. This is a monthly, no cost, confidential support group. Robert M. Goldstein, author of Riding with Reindeer – A Bicycle Odyssey through Finland, Lapland, and Arctic Norway will be on Orcas Island to show slides of his trip and autograph copies of his new book7 p.m. at Darvill’s Bookstore. 376-2135.
