Note: The Orcas Island Lady Vikings won their soccer game today against La Conner in double overtime, and will go on to play for the State Championship tomorrow in Sumner.
On to State Champions! :) Well, almost!
1st or 2nd..these girls are WINNERS!!!
Here’s a photo from their very first team all together…The Mighty Yellow Jackets! Mimi Anderson and I coached them! All of the seniors but Allison [O’Toole] were on team (she was living in Hawaii).
Stephanie Shaw is on the bottom, Tika [Thorson] and Emily [Diepenbrock] are in the middle, Hanna [North]on the 3rd row of the pyramid and Gracie [Thompson] on top! Maddy [Smith] is right smack in the middle. There are several other seniors in there as well. Elaine Irwin, Lanie Padbury, Samantha Tidwell. My daughter Emma who is in Costa Rica is on the top with Gracie.
Where does the time go? These same girls begged me and Mimi to coach them so they could play in the spring in a Bellingham league….
These girls pushed until they got a girls high school team and now they are top in state. I adore each and every one…they are my heroes!
Never Say Die!!
