The Orcas Center welcomes the Orcas Christian School to Center stage with their presentation of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe running May 25-28. This dramatization of C.S. Lewis’ classic work faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia.

Directed by OCS Humanities teacher, Andy Rivera, the idea to create this show came from students passionate about the Narnia books. Supported by Jerremy Foss, the Artistic Visionary who is responsible for set design and visual aesthetics, and Ely Foss who is the creative force behind the costuming, Rivera has said this production is a true labor of love with a positive message. “I wasn’t as familiar with the Narnia books as the students were. Once I read more, I realized it was the perfect story of redemption: A fall from grace and a journey to forgiveness, which is an ideal message to put out there to the community.”

Thirty-one students ranging in age from 8 to 18 have poured hundreds of hours into The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe – A story of love, faith, courage and giving, with a triumph of good over evil, resulting in a true celebration of life.

Show dates are May 25 at 7pm, May 26 at 7pm, and May 28 at 2pm. There is no show on May 27. Ticket prices range from $10-$59. Call 360-376-2281 ext 100, or visit www.orcascenter.org for tickets and more information.
