Orcas Center is delighted to present a new production of Oscar Wilde’s classic comedy The  Importance of Being Earnest from National Theatre Live on the big screen Saturday, April 12th at 6pm. This fresh and vibrant production features the incredibly talented Ncuti Gatwa in the role of Algernon Moncrieff, alongside a stellar cast in a sparkling revival of Wilde’s most beloved play.

The Importance of Being Earnest is a dazzling farce that explores the absurdities of identity, love, and social conventions in Victorian England. The witty and sharp dialogue is complemented by the hilarious entanglements of mistaken identities, secret engagements, and the search for “true love” in a world of pretensions.

Ncuti Gatwa, best known for his breakout role in Sex Education and his upcoming role as the 15th Doctor in Doctor Who, brings his infectious energy and charm to the role of Algernon, delivering a performance full of wit, warmth, and comedic brilliance. Directed by Max Webster (Donmar’s Macbeth; Life of Pi) this production highlights the timeless nature of Wilde’s humor while bringing a fresh perspective to the classic play.

Ticket prices range from $10-$63 with an additional $2 ticketing fee. Tickets are available online at www.OrcasCenter.org by phone at 360-376-2281 ext. 100, or in-person at the Box Office an hour prior to the performance.
