| Microplastics Beach Cleanup at Eastsound Waterfront Park |

| Join us on Saturday, August 23, from 11am to 1pm at the Eastsound Waterfront Park for a hands-on effort to tackle microplastics pollution. Volunteers will help remove harmful debris from our shoreline, making Orcas Island cleaner and safer for marine life. Supplies and gloves will be provided.
Participants will also have the opportunity to learn more about the impacts of microplastics and what we can do to protect the Salish Sea. This is the third and final cleanup in our 2025 summer beach cleanup series. Don’t miss it! Learn more… |

| In case you haven’t been in on a Sunday or Monday for a few weeks, make a point to come and say welcome back to Ronni Silva, the legendary transfer station cashier!
Ronni worked at the Orcas Transfer station for 16 years before the County’s Public Works Department moved her to the Orcas Road Crew in 2013. She recently retired from the County, and has come back home to team up with our other star cashier, Embee Brown.
