Monday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. at Emmanuel Episcopal Parish Hall

— from Brad Brown for Emmanuel Episcopal Parish —

All are invited to a showing of the unique 2014 animated feature “The Book of Life” (“el libro de la vida”) at the Episcopal Parish Hall on Monday, November 2 as a celebration of All Saints Day / All Souls Day – or Dia de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead. There is no charge. A special Spanish language showing of  the family-friendly film is scheduled with English subtitles.

The movie has been called “visually stunning” and “overflowing with charm.” Movie greats such as Channing Tatum, Christina Applegate, Zoë Saldana and Diego Luna voice the characters in a tale of the journey of Manolo, a young man who is torn between fulfilling the expectations of his family and following his heart.

“Before choosing which path to follow, he embarks on an incredible adventure that spans three fantastical worlds where he must face his greatest fears. Rich with a fresh take on pop music favorites, THE BOOK OF LIFE encourages us to celebrate the past while looking forward to the future.” (from the “Book of Life” website https://www.bookoflifemovie.com/)

The free showing of this movie will take place at the Emmanuel Epsicopal Church, 242 Main Street, Eastsound at 7 pm, Monday, November 2.

Spanish speaking families are cordially invited and encouraged to attended. Free holiday refreshments will be available.

It will follow the bilingual Day of the Dead service.
