The Orcas Island Community Foundation and the Funhouse are cosponsoring a workshop on the new 990 tax form with Jane Searing, CPA, of Clark Nuber. Ms. Searing specializes in issues of public disclosure, income and excise tax planning for exempt organizations and was listed in the April/May 2008 issue ofCPA Magazine as one of the Top 50 IRS Practitioners and April/May 2009 issue of CPA Magazine> as one of the “Top 40 Practitioners to Know In A Recession.”

This workshop will focus on demystifying the complex new 990 tax form and rules for nonprofit organizations.  It is free and open to the public and will be held at the Eastsound Fire Hall on Friday, September 25th from 2-4 p.m.  Contact Hilary Canty, Executive Director of the Orcas Island Community Foundation, 376-6423, to reserve a space.
