Orcas Recycling Services will be holding a Take-It-Only Event at The Exchange May 10th – 12th. This is part of an effort to carry out a thorough Spring cleaning of The Exchange site; as such, no items (as in zero) will be accepted… Which is to say, please, absolutely, do not bring anything with you to drop off (since we can’t and won’t take it), and please take as much as you can use! Volunteers will be on site to help out. Oh, and did we mention we won’t be taking anything?
On other fronts, ORS and the County are chugging along with getting everything in place for handing over operation of the Orcas Transfer Station to ORS. This is anticipated to take place early Summer — come pell-mell floods of tourists or high water, we’re determined to get there! Go team!
As we all gear up for the hectic summer season, let’s not forget to stop and enjoy the beauty of where we are, smell the flowers, smile, and help one another out when the opportunity arises.
