Knees Hurt?
Joan Roulac has faithfully been offering T’ai Chi Mondays for the last seven years in the Lundeen Room at the Orcas Senior Center. She says, “It is my real passion and commitment to help our island seniors thrive and overcome the numerous stressful challenges aging offers.”
Certified to teach T’ai Chi Chih 24 years ago, Joan passionately shares, inspires, and helps Seniors learn new ways of adding balance, strength, flexibility and vitality in to their daily lives. T’ai Chi Mondays begin January 11th at 9:30 a.m. in the morning. “The first class is free so you can experience T’ai Chi Chih and discover if it might be just what you are looking for,” says Joan.
“Experts are now saying T’ai Chi’s flowing movement tones the muscles surrounding the joints, improves alignment, and enhances body awareness which can help reduce risk of injury.
“Mayo Clinic reports regular practice can reduce Senior’s risk of falling by 47per cent. T’ai Chi is an ancient Chinese practice of simple, quiet movements which Harvard Medical School now endorses as ‘medication in motion.’ Remarkable success stories keep us inspired and practicing.”
The cost for the eight-week series is $80. Joan Roulac can be reached at chiworks4me@gmail.com
