This Sunday, following the Sustainable Orcas Island meeting (rescheduled from Wednesday, Sept. 30) there will be a DVD showing and discussion of “Island on the Edge,” followed by a community potluck.

The film will be shown from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at the Orcas Island Public Library. Filmaker Nick Versteeg will be attending.

“Island On the Edge” is a locally produced documentary from Versteeg of DV Cuisine (https://www.dvcuisine.com). The film looks at the history of food production on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands and what would happen to our food supply if we were suddenly cut off from the rest of the world. It also chronicles the efforts of several crusaders in the field of food production in the area and how people can get involved with supporting the local food movement.

Following the discussion, The Orcas Seed Bank invites the community to a potluck at the Odd Fellows Hall. Call Allan Rosato at 376-2158 for more information.
