Saturday, July 15 is your opportunity to support Orcas Senior Center at the Village Green! Starting at 11 a.m., OSC will sponsor the Orcas Island Cider & Mead Festival, a summer fundraiser to support essential programs for seniors and adults with disabilities.
All proceeds from the festival support health and social services including Buddy Check-In, Hearts and Hands, Home Maintenance and Repair, Senior Meals, plus a variety of social, recreational, and health-related offerings including foot care, yoga, Meeting of the Minds, field trips, exercise, and art classes. Starting this fall, OSC will initiate its newest program, Dementia Friendly Communities. This nationally recognized program helps educate and engage communities in ways that support and assist people with dementia and their families.
As a new member of the National Council on Aging, OSC seeks to engage our community in creating the conditions needed to age safely and well on Orcas Island. Please support healthy seniors on Orcas with your donations and/or by attending the Cider & Mead Festival.
