Canoe Island French Camp will hold an Open House that provides a chance for those curious about Canoe Island as well as families and friends to tour the island and meet the staff on Saturday, June 20 from 1 to 4 p.m.

Canoe Island French Camp, a 47-acre private island located off Lopez Island, has been iin operation since 1969.

Campers aged 9 to 16, school groups and families can explore the  island while taking part in a unique mix of French language/culture, outdoor and artistic activities. No language pre-requisite is required.

Some of the activities offered while students absorb particular aspects of French culture are kayaking, sailing, theater, art, cooking, snorkeling, photography, fencing, and
swimming.

“Our mission is to give children and families a  wonderful camp experience. Through outdoor activities and the arts they grow to appreciate the natural world and the language and culture of France and their own country, while living in a positive nurturing camp environment,” says French Camp marketing director Jessica Haag.

Session 2,  La Révolution Française FULL
Session 3, Le Monde Francophone, Sunday, July 26-Friday Aug 14, Ages 10-16
Session 4, Les Chevaliers, Sunday, Aug. 16, Friday, Aug. 28, 9-16
In addition, Family Camp runs from Aug. 29 to Sept 1, and from Friday-Monday, Sept 4-7.
