— from Marcia West —

Orcas Island Park and Recreation District is compiling our second All Orcas summer recreation activities. We will be posting the catalog online and printing a limited number of copies for distribution at key locations. Our goal is to provide a service to the community and visitors by offering a one-stop source for information on summer recreation and camps.

We are collecting information for the catalog and hope to include any programs or events you may be offering. For non-profits there is no charge for the listing and for commercial / for-profit activities a $30 fee is needed to help cover printing costs. Fees can be paid at the park office or call to arrange online payment.

Please email the following information to marciaw@oiprd.org at your earliest convenience: (By April 14th for print edition)

  • Title / Name of the activity
  • Brief description
  • Age range
  • Where and When
  • How to find more information and sign up
  • Website link or phone

We plan to update the catalog throughout the summer so you can send revisions, changes, and new activities as they come up. Our hope is that this will provide a green alternative with people printing just the pages they are interested in.

We are including the following sections in the catalog with some examples: The Arts (dance, painting, theater); Sports and Fitness (team and individual); On the Water (sailing, rowing, kayak, fishing); Farm, Food, and Garden (cooking, beekeeping, flower arrangement); Music (lessons and bands); Hobbies and Games (board games, models, computer gaming); and Camps (day camp and overnight).

Thank you for your input. Please call 376-7275 or email if you have any questions.
