“If someone were to hurt my wife or my children,” says County Councilmember Rick Hughes, “it would just be unimaginable.” He further states that our community is not aware of the level of domestic violence that occurs locally which is why he chose to support awareness of this rampant problem and honor his wife by becoming one of the 100 Stand-up Men against domestic violence.
Honor a Woman in your life by making a $100 donation in her honor to the county’s Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Services (DVSAS), because everyone deserves to live free of abuse. This program was to run through the month of May and has been extended until this Friday, June 5.
What your contribution can do:
- Provide the victim of sexual assault and/or domestic violence the safety planning tools and counseling services they need to thrive.
- Provide a domestic violence victim the time and court support they need to get an order of protection.
- Provide 4 hours of prevention outreach in the classroom of our schools.
You and the woman you are honoring will have your name in the paper and DVSAS website (optional) and the woman you are honoring will receive a handmade card from DVSAS telling her that you made a contribution in her honor.
