||| FROM BETHANY MARIE for ORCAS CENTER |||

On Tuesday, May 16, Orcas Center welcomes the team from Inspire Washington – the state-wide advocacy organization for the cultural sector promoting the value of science, heritage and arts programming. If you are an artist, or work in programming for the cultural sector, join us for a lively discussion on what recent bills were passed to help provide state funding for your organization! On the agenda:

  • Inspire Washington staff will break down the wins and successes of the Legislative session including HB1575 (providing councilmanic authority for the cultural access program) and new funding resources including $2 Million that was allocated to the cultural sector! We will tell you what you need to do to get ready to receive these funds.
  • Grant opportunities – USDA, community projects, and much more!
  • Listening. What do you need and what should we ask for? And, how do you get involved? It will take a broad coalition to secure future funding.
  • More information about our coalition. Do you want to be more involved in policy development and advocacy or learn about membership? We’ll plug you into future activities so that your community is represented.
