Orcas County Council Members Richard Fralick, District 4, Orcas West, Gene Knapp, District 5, Orcas East, have issued an invitation to a Special Public Meeting to be held Thursday, Aug. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Eastsound Fire Hall.
County Administrator Pete Rose and County Auditor Milene Henley are also scheduled to attend the Town Hall Meeting next Thursday.
Presentations will include details of a countywide property tax increase currently under consideration. Public input about its structure will be actively solicited. Additional items for discussion will be the current county budget crisis, the Uplands’ Critical Areas Ordinance, the Shoreline Master Plan Update, the Eastsound peddling and sign ordinances and other important issues facing the County.
