A Special School Board Meeting will be held Thursday, August 14 at the Orcas Island High School Commons, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The agenda calls for:
*1. Approve Resolution 2014-12 Fixing and Adopting a General Fund Budget Extension. This resolution will increase the 2013-14 General Fund appropriation amount from $8,029,726 to $8,160,906 (an increase of $131,180).

2. APPROVE Minutes of July 24, 2014 Regular School Board Mtg/Public Budget Hearing. 3. APPROVE Agreement with Joyce Nigretto dated August 4, 2014.
4. APPROVE the following PERSONNEL ACTIONS:
Certificated:
● Open a 0.60 FTE Secondary Teacher position due to S. Benson’s resignation. Approximate annual cost: $48,000.00; includes a 37% benefit allocation
PSE Represented Classified:
● Accept an intent to retire from Joyce Nigretto, Head Bus Driver, effective August 31, 2014.
● Open a .384 FTE Head Bus Driver position @ 4.0 hours/day for 178 school days for the 2014-15 school year. Approximate annual cost is $27,000.00; includes a 45% benefit allocation.
● Approve hiring Brenda (Sadie) Baily as a .481 FTE OASIS Office Clerk for the 2014-15 school year. Approximate annual cost: $ 20,140.05; includes a 45% benefit allocation.
● Approve hiring Tom Tillman as a 0.383 FTE OASIS office clerk for the 2014-15 school year. Approximate annual cost $ 17,110.00; includes a 45% benefit allocation.
Co-Curricular:
● Approve Stephanie Shaw as the OHS Assistant Girls’ Soccer Coach for the 2014-15 school year. Step 1 1 stipend: $1349.00.
● Approve Kathy Morris as the MS Volleyball Coach for the 2014-15 school year. Step 5 stipend: $1594.00.
● Approve Roger Sandwith as the OHS Assistant Football coach for the 2014-15 school year. Step 1 stipend: $1349.00.

The Regular School Board Meeting will be held Thursday August 28 at 5:30 p.m. at the High School Commons.
WED SEP 3, 2014 FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL – grades 1 thru 12.
