Morning hearings accessible by videoconference at Orcas, Lopez Libraries

At the Tuesday, June 5 County Council meeting there will be a public hearing at 10:15 a.m. regarding the proposal to Amend Solid Waste Level of Service Ordinance 2-2012. The discussion will follow a presentation by Frank Mulcahy,Director of Public Works, continued from May 22.

Other solid waste proposals will be presented at 10:30 a.m. regarding:

  1. Introduction of Proposed Lopez Solid Waste Disposal District (LSWDD) Board Candidates – Sandy Bishop, Lopez Island
  1. Ordinance for Solid Waste Disposal District. This presentation by will address
  •  the San Juan County Solid Waste Disposal District (2nd touch)
  • and the formation of Lopez Solid Waste Disposal District (2nd touch)

The Council meeting, held in Friday Harbor, will be teleconferenced live from the Orcas and Lopez public Libraries form 10 a.m. to noon p.m.

Following the noon recess, the Council will adjourn for a 1 p.m. discussion on the San Juan Island Solid Waste Site Request for Proposal (RFP) Criteria (1st touch) with  Frank Mulcahy, Public Works Director; Steve Alexander, Solid Waste Manager.

At 2 p.m., the Council is scheduled to discuss an Ordinance Revising the General Fund Reserve Policy (prehearing touch/PH on June 26) with Milene Henley, County Auditor and Randall Gaylord, Prosecuting Attorney.
