Staff at the Orcas Island Historical Museum were thrilled to find the missing bison skull sitting near their front door on Monday.
“It’s a little worse for the wear,” says Maggie Vinson. “The tips of the horns are a bit scraped up.”
The skull presently sits quietly and patiently in the Museum office under Maggie’s watchful eye. “We haven’t put it back in the Museum, yet.”
Other items taken in the theft have not yet been returned, but hope remains high. “We don’t expect to get the money back, nor the t-shirts,” sighed Maggie, “but it sure would be nice to get that buckskin back.”
