Discover what is it like to live in Afghanistan. On Sunday, August 28 from 5-7 at the Orcas Center, the San Juan Islands Museum of Art (SJIMA) features a very special conversation with award-winning photographer, James Longley. In his own words you will learn about the culture of Afghanistan and of everyday life, all leading to a better understanding of this ancient and troubled region.

James Longley, Oscar-nominated filmmaker, speaks to his years immersed in the daily life of old city Kabul. This event is sponsored by the Orcas Island Community Foundation.

This presentation requires no reservations and is a Pay As You Can talk. The Orcas Center is located at 917 Mt Baker Rd, Eastsound, WA.

His exhibition at SJIMA combines vast panoramic images with portraits and film focusing on the people and their normal lives.  Further information can be found at www.sjima.org.
