PeteSeegerYou’re invited!

Second Annual Community Concert & Sing-Along Celebrating the Life & Legacy of Pete Seeger on Sunday May 3, 2:30-5:30 at the Odd Fellows Hall, Eastsound.

Bring songbooks (like “Rise Up Singing” if you have it), instruments if you like, snacks to share (gluten-free encouraged). Bring elders. Bring kids.

Songs will be lead by local musician song leaders. To request a song, lead a song, sign up to help with set up or clean up, or learn more about Pete Seeger, you can contact Sharon Abreu at sharmuse@gmail.com or by phone at 5773.

Free and open to the public. Donations welcome to cover rent. Additional donations will support:

  • Indian Island Marine Health Observatory
  • Irthlingz Arts-Based Environmental Education
  • Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, founded by Pete and Toshi Seeger in 1966.

In true Pete Seeger form, any and all are welcome and encouraged to sing-along! Pete passed away in January 2014; May 3 would have been his 96th birthday. We will celebrate his birth in the most appropriate way, through his music!

All are welcome! For more info or to help with set up/clean up, call 5773 or email sharmuse@gmail.com.
