No work, no school, and no shopping

||| FROM WOMENS COALITION |||

This Friday, January 30, activists and communities across the United States are calling for a National Shutdown — a day of no work, no school, and no shopping — to protest U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations and demand justice and accountability following recent deadly federal enforcement actions, including fatal shootings in Minneapolis that have sparked widespread outrage and calls for change.

 What Is the National Shutdown?

  • A nationwide day of civil resistance urging people to abstain from work, school, and consumer spending to stop funding ICE and draw attention to harmful immigration enforcement practices.

Inspired by grassroots organizing in the Twin Cities, where tens of thousands participated in mass protests and economic disruption following the deaths of civilians during federal immigration actions.
