Shoe Drive provides shoes for 60 island children

The Orcas Community Resource Center is grateful to continue its long-time partnership with the Sons of the American Legion through the annual Shoe Drive, which provided shoes for 60 island children this year.

This ongoing effort helps ensure local children have comfortable, properly fitting shoes for school, play, and everyday activities. For families, support like this can ease household expenses while helping children feel prepared for the months ahead.

“We are grateful to the Sons of the American Legion for their continued generosity and commitment to island families,” said Erin O’Dell, Resource Center Executive Director. “When children have shoes that fit, they can move through their day with greater comfort and confidence. This partnership helps make that possible for island kids.”

The Resource Center also extends special appreciation to staff members Cyrus Fillmore and Tina Leavitt, our “star shoppers,” whose thoughtful work helped select shoes for participating children this year..
