A Deputy on Orcas responded to a fraud callback near Eastsound. A report was taken. The reporting party had no loss, and all information passed on the Sheriff’s Office will be followed up on.

22-007084 Sex Offense 11:45:53 09/28/22
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a sex offense at a business. After an investigation was complete, it was found that no crime was committed and an employee was trespassed from the business.

22-007085 Property Damage, Non Vandalism 12:26:37 09/28/22
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of property damage. The damage was found to be accidental and no crime was committed. The incident was documented.

22-007086 Found Property 12:59:56 09/28/22
A Deputy responded to a Found Property call in Friday Harbor. A debit card was found at the Port of Friday Harbor and turned into the Sheriff’s Office. The owner was unable to be located and the debit card was entered into the property room per policy. Report made.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a report of stolen mail. A report was taken.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a found credit card at the Friday Harbor Drug store. Owner contact information was unable to be located. The credit card was submitted into evidence as found property. A report was completed.

22-007108 Domestic Dispute or Assault 22:03:36 09/28/22
Lopez Island Deputies were dispatched to a domestic disturbance. One of the involved parties was arrested for malicious mischief and booked into the San Juan County Jail. A report was taken.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a call related to the mail theft on Lopez Island.

22-007116 Found Property 10:52:56 09/29/22
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of found property. No contact information was available for the owner and the property was entered into evidence for safekeeping.

22-007117 Accident-HitRun 11:12:28 09/29/22
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a hit and run involving a fire hydrant. The owner of the vehicle called the collision in several hours later saying they swerved to miss a deer, but did not remember the collision. Alcohol/drug use is suspected but PC could not be developed.

22-007121 Controlled Substance Problem 12:45:24 09/29/22
A Deputy responded to a found property report of a container with an unknown white powder inside. The substance tested negative for methamphetamine, cocaine, & heroin. The unknown substance was entered into the evidence room for destruction.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a theft at a local storage unit. There is no suspect information or workable leads and the report was documented.

An Orcas Deputy responded to a report of disorderly man in Eastsound. The man was contacted and identified as a local homeless person who was intoxicated and in violation of his probation conditions. Settled by contact. A report was written.

22-007142 Prowler 20:18:58 09/29/22
Orcas Island Deputies responded to a burglary in progress on the 500 block of Harborview Ln. A suspect was found burglarizing a garage, brandished a weapon at Deputies and fled on foot. The suspect was not caught and the investigation is on-going.

22-007156 Welfare Check 10:17:45 09/30/22
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a welfare check. An individual was found to be in violation of court ordered conditions of release and the report was forwarded to the individual’s probation officer.

22-007158 Welfare Check 11:33:23 09/30/22
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a welfare check. An individual was voluntarily transported to the hospital for a mental evaluation.

22-007161 Illegal Smoking/Possession 12:54:41 09/30/22
An Orcas Deputy responded to a report of tobacco purchased at a local business and given to a minor. An investigation is ongoing.

22-007171 Citizen Dispute 17:14:47 09/30/22
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a citizen dispute on Linder St. The reporting party initially advised they were assaulted but they did not wish to pursue charges. After being advised that the catalyzing incident was civil in nature, they decided they did wish to pursue charges.

San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a domestic incident. Investigation revealed that no crime occurred, and all parties agreed to separate for the night. The incident was documented.

An Orcas Deputy responded to altercation that took place a local business in Eastsound. Investigation continues.

22-007188 Fraud 14:54:31 10/01/22
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a fraud complaint. An elderly person sent several thousand dollars to an unidentified suspect in a bail money scam. If you are contacted to bail-out a loved one, please stop and verify the circumstances. This is a very common tactic used by scammers.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a trespassing complaint. The suspect neither located nor identified.

A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of found property. The item was entered into the evidence system.

Deputies on Orcas Island responded to the sighting of a person wanted in a previously reported burglary. The person was located and taken into custody.

22-007200 Accident-Injury, Traffic 11:44:36 10/02/22
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a single vehicle collision. The vehicle appeared to have gone off the roadway, hit the embankment and rolled. The driver showed no signs of impairment and was transported by SJI EMS.

22-007201 Fraud 13:53:48 10/02/22
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of fraud. Someone had reportedly attempted to use fake money in the last week. The incident was not reported at the time of use. The store wanted the Sheriff’s Office to be aware of someone using fake money in town. A report was completed.

22-007203 Citizen Assist 15:13:42 10/02/22
A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of flyers being posted around Friday Harbor with an image of the reporting party’s dogs on it. There is currently no suspect information or workable leads. A report was completed.

22-007212 Burglary,NonRes 08:08:05 10/03/22
A Deputy was dispatched to a Commercial Burglary in the Friday Harbor area. The person reported the business was entered over the weekend and some items were missing. Evidence gathered at the scene and report taken.

22-007214 Threats 09:07:07 10/03/22
A Deputy responded to a report of an attempted Fraud. The caller received an email stating that the party had hacked her business website & would hold it hostage unless she paid $3000 in Bitcoin. The caller stated her website didn’t appear to be hacked and she suffered no loss.

22-007215 Burglary,NonRes 09:08:09 10/03/22
A Deputy was dispatched to a Commercial Burglary in the Friday Harbor area. The business owner had security camera footage of someone inside his business. The owner noticed a few items missing. Follow up required. Report taken.

Lopez Deputy took a report relating to a mail theft incident.

A Deputy responded to a report of a Theft of a street sign that occurred sometime between 10/1/22 and 10/3/22. There is no suspect information, no video footage, and no workable leads at the time. San Juan County Public Works was notified and a report completed.

22-007229 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 13:41:30 10/03/22
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of suspicious activity. An Apple Air Tag was located on someone’s vehicle. The Air Tag appeared to be dead when the Deputy received and would no longer pair with a phone. The incident was documented.

22-007236 Weapon Safekeeping 15:39:25 10/03/22
A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a safekeeping call at the substation. A report was taken.

22-007243 Civil Problem 17:12:09 10/03/22
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a civil dispute involving access to water from a shared well. The Deputy contacted the involved parties and completed an informational report.

22-007245 Trauma BLS 18:47:40 10/03/22
A Deputy on San Juan Island transported an in-custody individual to the hospital after they were seen by EMS. The individual had an injury that occurred before entering the jail that needed to be evaluated further. The hospital cleared the individual to return to jail. A report was completed.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 4
22-007262 Citizen Assist 13:13:10 10/04/22
A Deputy responded to a citizen assist call in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Station. A known individual came into the station, completed a statement form, and left after giving the form to dispatch. No crime was reported and the statement was not related to any open cases. Statement attached

22-007265 Kidnapping 13:55:10 10/04/22
A Deputy was contacted about a Kidnapping. The person stated that they met a person online and they were coming to live with them. The person failed to arrive and they received an e-mail claiming the person had been kidnapped. Incident is currently being investigated.

22-007275 Fraud 19:21:40 10/04/22
A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of fraud. The victim let their partner borrow their debit card, and the partner does not remember making the purchase of approximately $30 USD. The individual wanted to report that there might be a credit card skimmer on the island. A report was completed.

22-007278 Court Order Violation 21:24:09 10/04/22
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to an order violation. The protected party wanted the individual spoken to and did not want to pursue an order violation on the first offense since the order is new. The petitioner and respondent were both spoken to separately. A report was completed.
