A San Juan Deputy took a report of an incident of shoplifting in Friday Harbor. The suspect had left the scene prior to arrival and was not identified. Their photo was forwarded to all Deputies to be on the lookout for the suspect.

A Lopez Island Deputy responded to a complaint of suspicious activity on a neighbor’s property. The owner was contacted and was aware of the work being done, and there was nothing unlawful occurring.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a domestic violence incident. The Deputy contacted the reporting party and possible victim who did not want to speak about the incident at the time.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of an overdose for a suspected suicide attempt. The patient was transported to the emergency room for treatment.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a DUI call. The vehicle in question was located and failed to yield to the Deputy’s lights and sirens on the road. Probable Cause for a criminal citation was written.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a suspicious male speaking to children at a local business. Though the conversation was irregular, no crime was committed and the incident was documented.

Deputies responded to a Lopez Island residence for a domestic violence complaint. It was determined that it was verbal only and that no crime occurred. The involved persons separated and a report was completed.

An Orcas Island Deputy was dispatched to a disorderly conduct call in the Eastsound area. The reporting party advised that a male was laying down in the middle of the road blocking traffic. During the arrest the individual attempted to assault the officer with a knife but was disarmed.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a citizen assist call. The citizen was not at their address and does not have a telephone. The Deputy was not able to assist the citizen as they were unreachable.

An Orcas Deputy issued a trespass warning letter to subject that had been causing problems at a local business.

A backpack was found in the bathrooms at the Village Green. It was collected and booked into the property room at the Orcas Substation. No identification was found inside the backpack. The owner is unknown.

Ray’s Pharmacy found a cell phone plugged into the exterior wall of the business. It was collected and turned over to the Sheriff’s Office.

A Lopez resident contacted the Sheriff’s department to report a stolen bicycle. A few days later, the reporting party contacted the department to report that the bicycle had been found.

A San Juan Deputy was dispatched to a weapon offense in Friday Harbor. No suspect information exists at this time; the incident was documented.

An Orcas Island Deputy arrested a subject for trespassing at Cons Pit Stop 274 A St. A report was sent to the Prosecutors Office for review.

A Lopez Island Deputy received a traffic complaint about a commercial vehicle. The company owner was contacted about the issue, who assured the Deputy he would speak to the driver.

A Lopez Island Deputy ticketed two vehicles parked in a no parking zone on Islandale Rd. The cars were blocking a public works crew from a road improvement project.

A San Juan Deputy stopped a vehicle as the owner had a suspended driver’s license. The driver was issued an infraction for operating a motor vehicle without insurance. The Deputy’s report will be sent to the Prosecutor’s Office for a charging decision for DWLS 3 and an ignition interlock violation.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of theft regarding an apparent scam listing via a local Facebook buy, sell, trade group. The suspect was contacted via telephone and the report will be sent to the Prosecutor’s Office for a charging decision for theft 3rd degree.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Citizen Assist. The Deputy contacted the caller who was requesting to turn over a firearm to be destroyed. The Deputy took the firearm and entered it into evidence to be destroyed.

A Deputy on Orcas responded to a death near Eastsound. A report was taken.

A Deputy was contacted in reference to a Hit and Run Unattended. The Deputy contacted the caller. The caller advised that her vehicle was damaged but she did not know where or when. Report taken for insurance purposes.

A Lopez Island Deputy investigated a report of sheep in distress. The caller reported she was concerned because the sheep, which were tethered, were standing in a field with no shelter while it was cold and raining. It was determined the sheep were not in distress, despite the drizzling rain.

A Deputy had an item turned in as Found Property at the Sheriff’s Office. The item was entered into evidence.

Lopez Deputies responded to a report of a sailor hanging off the side of their vessel in Shoal Bay. The Deputies responded to the area and observed a sailboat near Spencer’s Marina. The operator was clearly not in crisis and did not even appear to be wet.
