A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a dog that was sold in Friday Harbor that belonged to a couple off-island. The dog was returned to his owner and the Deputy’s report was sent to the Prosecutor’s Office for a charging decision for theft in the second degree.

A Lopez Deputy assisted a semi-truck driver who turned down the wrong driveway. The damages will be handled civilly with the property owner.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of an unwanted person. A subject was contacted and known to be on alcohol conditions. The subject appeared to be intoxicated and in possession of Alcohol. A report for the court ordered conditions violation was sent to the PA’s Office.

An Orcas Island Deputy assisted County Maintenance dispose of a tent and a large amount of rotting food all discarded on the Village Green. The broken/torn tent and food were causing a health hazard and attracting vermin.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Theft in the Friday Harbor area. The caller reported that a person had taken the tip jar from a business. The caller provided a description of the suspect. Report taken.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a burglary. Charges for malicious mischief third degree were forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for charging decision.

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a theft callback. A report was taken.

A Lopez Island Deputy checked on a report of a kayak adrift in Fisherman Bay. The kayak was located floating offshore, with no evidence of accompanying gear anywhere nearby. Unusually high tides and gale force winds likely floated the kayak from shore.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a theft. The reporting party stated someone stole three sweatshirts, a cell phone and some change. The suspect has not been located at the time of the report.

San Juan Deputies responded to a 911 call reporting in-progress vandalism. An unknown suspect destroyed a community member’s vehicle by slashing the tires and smashing out the windows. The investigation is ongoing.

A Deputy responded to a Welfare Check in Friday Harbor. The caller stated he had not heard from his brother in 5 days. The victim was found in his apartment deceased of apparent natural causes. Uniform Death Report completed and sent to the Coroner/PA’s Office. Report made.

A Deputy was dispatched to an Assault in the Friday Harbor area. A long care patient had pushed a staff member. The staff member did not pursue the incident. An informational report was taken.
