An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a fraud attempt. The savvy citizen received a phone call that appeared to be from a nearby law enforcement agency. The citizen screened the phone call and notified the law enforcement agency that she received the fraudulent call. The incident was documented.
25-007097 Trespassing 15:34:21 10/15/25
A Lopez Deputy responded to a complaint about an individual who had trespassed onto private property. The individual was experiencing mental health challenges and had been previously warned against entering upon the property. The individual was arrested for criminal trespass 2nd degree.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a citizen assist. A citizen, from their yard, overheard a couple passing by having a heated argument and making threats. The incident is under investigation.
25-007131 Abandoned Vehicle 18:34:55 10/16/25
A Deputy on Orcas Island issued a notice of infraction for abandoning a vehicle at a local towing establishment.

A Deputy on Orcas Island issued a notice of infraction for abandoning a vehicle at a local towing establishment.
25-007137 Vehicle Theft 21:57:54 10/16/25
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a vehicle theft complaint. The vehicle was entered into WACIC and NCIC as stolen. The vehicle was located and recovered early the next morning. The driver was arrested for possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

25-007139 Accident-Injury, Traffic 05:52:00 10/17/25
A Orcas Island Deputy and Orcas Island Fire and Rescue responded to a motor vehicle collision near West Sound. The Deputy learned that the contributing factor to the collision was the at fault driver’s speed. Both drivers walked away from the collision. The incident was documented.

A Lopez Deputy looked for a possible trespasser near Oles Lane.
25-007143 Accident-HitRun 09:59:52 10/17/25
A Lopez resident reported hit and run damage to their vehicle, which occurred on Tuatara Road.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of vagrancy in Friday Harbor. A transient male had thrown a used syringe storage device from a bathroom into the water at the Port. The male was located inside the bathroom and admitted to doing so. He was arrested and booked into jail.

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a vehicle hit and run in the Eastsound area. The Deputy authored a report for the victim’s insurance company and was unable to locate the suspected vehicle due to a lack of information.

A Lopez resident reported a non-criminal, but unpleasant interaction with an employee at a local business in the village.
25-007188 Accident-Injury, Traffic 14:34:15 10/18/25
A San Juan Deputy responded to a 2-car collision without apparent injury. A collision report was generated and the driver was issued an infraction for Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Liability Insurance and Speed Too Fast for Conditions.
25-007189 Domestic Dispute or Assault 14:44:10 10/18/25
Deputies on Orcas Island responded to a domestic dispute. No crime was committed. The incident was documented.
25-007190 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 14:57:59 10/18/25
Deputies on Orcas Island responded to a suspicious circumstance call. A person who had previously been trespassed from a property was located there and arrested.

A Deputy on Orcas Island witnessed a crime in progress. As he attempted to arrest the suspect, a second party intervened, assaulting the Deputy in an attempt to free the original suspect. Both subjects were taken into custody.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to an agency assist. Child Protective Services requested a welfare check. The Deputy completed the welfare check and authored a report.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a two vehicle accident. There were no injuries and a report was filed.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 19
25-007203 Weapons Offense 04:55:35 10/19/25
A Friday Harbor male suffered a mental health crisis which resulted in him shooting a gun into his house. He was taken into custody and booked into the jail.
25-007209 Citizen Dispute 10:02:36 10/19/25
A Friday Harbor man entered a residence to get away from the laser equipped drones that were burning the top of his head. He was taken to the Peace Island Hospital for evaluation.
25-007223 Medical Emergency 17:11:51 10/19/25
An in-custody individual was seen by San Juan EMS, who was then transported to the ER at PIMC. The individual was ultimately held on a mental health hold and transferred to a different facility. A report was completed.
MONDAY, OCTOBER 20
25-007228 Court Order Violation 10:00:05 10/20/25
A Deputy on Orcas Island was dispatched to a possible order violation. There was no probable cause for a violation and a report was taken.
25-007239 Accident-HitRun 13:48:23 10/20/25
A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of a hit and run. It is unknown at this time who hit the victims vehicle.
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 21

The Sheriff’s Office took a report of a stolen wheel barrow. The incident was documented.
25-007287 Found Property 17:13:15 10/21/25
A Deputy on San Juan Island took custody of a wallet found in Friday Harbor. The wallet was placed into evidence as found property.

A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of cyber harassment involving a juvenile. A report was completed.
