An employee at the market found firearms that had been discarded into the market’s dumpster. The investigation is ongoing.

Deputies responded a a reported suicide in the Eastsound area. An investigation was completed.

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to the Doe Bay Resort for a call of a road rage incident. An investigation was conducted, and it was determined no crime was committed. An incident report was authored.

An Orcas Island Deputy authored an incident report regarding a fraud investigation. The reporting party received emails attempting to defraud him of $10,000. The reporting party detected the fraud and did not loose any money.

Orcas Island Deputies responded to a call of a physical fight in the parking lot of the Orcas Library at 500 Rose St. Deputies arrived and contacted two subjects who were involved in verbal altercation. Both subjects were served with no trespass warning letters.

Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a harassment call. A trespass warning letter was issued. A report was taken.

A Deputy on San Juan Island took custody of a bicycle from a good Samaritan, who had held on to the bicycle after the owner was in an accident earlier in the month. The bicycle stored into evidence for safekeeping. A report was completed.

Deputies on San Juan responded to a welfare check. The individual was located near Egg Lake Rd and appeared to be heavily intoxicated. A courtesy ride home was offered, instead individual chose to spit on the Deputies. She was taken into custody and booked into jail. A report was completed.

San Juan Deputies responded to a request for a welfare check. The individual was contacted; they advised they were fine and declined offered assistance.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a non-injury collision. The damage was under the damage threshold and the drivers exchanged information.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a theft at a local church. A MacBook and cash were stolen and there are no suspects or active leads at this time.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a residential burglary. An investigation is ongoing.

A San Juan Deputy was dispatched to a report of weapon noise. Casings were found in the area, but no property damage was noted. No identifying information was available.

A Deputy responded to a found property call in Friday Harbor. An owner of the property was unable to be located and the property was entered into the property room per policy.

A San Juan Deputy located an individual with a warrant for their arrest. The person was booked into jail.

A San Juan Deputy was dispatched to a report of theft from a local business. The caller advised items had been stolen and they had identified the suspects. The Deputy contacted the suspects who admitted to the theft and returned the items. The information was forwarded to Superior Court Services.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a theft of a firearm. The firearm went missing sometime between December 2021 and the date reported. The incident was documented, there are no suspects or workable leads at this time.

A Deputy on Orcas responded to a trespassing call in Eastsound. The suspect had left the premise before the Deputy arrived. Video surveillance was gathered and a report was taken for pending charges.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Domestic in the San Juan Island area. Deputies arrived and contacted the people involved. The incident was verbal in nature and no crime appeared to have been committed. Report taken.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of fraud. The Deputy received information a citizen was defrauded about $160,000. The case is currently being investigated.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of vandalism. Multiple mailboxes were damaged and a street sign was stolen. The incident was documented as there are no suspects or workable leads at this time.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a citizen assist call. A Lopez citizen had an argument with their landlord. A report was taken.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a citizen assist call at the Sheriff’s Office. The Deputy spoke to the involved party and learned that there was no criminal activity reported. They were referred to the appropriate agency for assistance.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of vandalism. Multiple mailboxes were destroyed, one by explosive device. The remnants of the explosive device will be sent to the state crime lab for analysis. The case is ongoing at this time.
22-007574 Malicious Mischief 11:48:13 10/16/22
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of vandalism. Mail boxes were damaged in the area of West Side Rd. There are no workable leads at this time, possibly related to other vandalism cases in the area.

A Deputy was dispatched to Found Property in the Friday Harbor area. The Deputy took possession of a found cell phone. the cell phone was entered into evidence. Report taken.
22-007592 Malicious Mischief 19:08:18 10/16/22
A San Juan Deputy took a report of a damaged mailbox on Bailer Hill Rd. The Deputy located 10 other victims who had not yet reported the damage. The damage appeared to have been caused from the boxes being struck by a swung object. No suspect information exists at this time.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of fraud at Kings Market. An individual attempted to use a fraudulent $100 USD bill during check out. The fake money was given back to the individual by the store, they paid with other money. He left the scene, unknown identity. A report was completed.

A Deputy responded to a report of a Juvenile Problem in Friday Harbor. The caller reported that her teenage child did not want to go to school on this day. The Deputy spoke to both parties involved, nothing physical occurred, and the teenager accepted a ride to ride.

A Deputy on Orcas responded to a welfare check in Eastsound. Once information was found about the person in question the reporting party was satisfied with the information.
22-007604 Burglary – Residential 13:28:12 10/17/22
A Deputy on Orcas responded to a possible burglary near the ferry landing. It was found after an investigation that a family member broke a window and the owner did not want to go through with any charges.

A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a report of illegal drugs located at the high school. The drugs were seized. The investigation is ongoing.

A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of a heavily damaged mailbox. The reporting party stated that their mailbox was nearly flattened on one side and the door was damaged. There are currently no suspects or workable leads, a report was completed.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a theft at Kings Market. A known individual placed a bottle of alcohol in their sweatshirt and left the store, the theft was caught on video. The store chose to permanently trespass the individual instead of press charges at this time. A report was completed.

Deputies on Orcas responded to a trespassing call near the ferry landing. The property owner wanted an individual taken off their property and informed to not return as they had no right to be there. The person obliged and a report was written.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a single vehicle collision. The driver was located approximately 1 block away from the vehicle. During the initial contact, the driver threw a large rock at the Deputy. The driver was arrested for assault of a law enforcement officer.

A Deputy on Orcas took and accident-non injury call at the Orcas sub-station. The reporting party just wanted the incident documented. A report was written.

A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to an accident hit-and-run Callback. The callers vehicle had been struck the day prior at a local business. A report was taken.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded with EMS to the jail for in in-custody individual who requested medical attention. The individual was transported to the hospital by EMS and was later cleared by hospital staff to return to jail. A report was completed.
