A Friday Harbor resident turned in an item that was mailed to her house. She attempted to send the item to the rightful owner but the item was mailed back to her address. I attempted to contact the rightful property owner with negative results. The item was impounded for safekeeping.

A Deputy was dispatched to the Eastsound area reference a DUI driver. The vehicle was located. An initial investigation was conducted and the driver arrested for DUI. A report will follow.

A citizen reported a reckless driver on San Juan Island. The suspect vehicle did not slow or stop at the intersection of Beaverton Valley and Egg Lake Road and nearly struck a vehicle traveling Westbound on Beaverton Valley. Investigation to continue.

A Lopez Island deputy checked a vehicle at the Lopez Hill Trailhead after dark. Two Lopez residents were contacted inside. They were warned about being on Land Bank property after dark and asked to leave. They complied. No further action was necessary.

Deputies responded to a residence within the Town of Friday Harbor reference a possible Domestic disturbance. One of parties involved was taken into protective custody due to the mental health status.

On 11/10/16 a vessel was issued a parking ticket for violation of day use only
mooring at the Orcas San Juan County boat dock. This vessel has been previously warned in writing and cited for this violation

A Lopez deputy responded to a dog at large complaint. Dog was returned to the owner and the owner was given a warning.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched for a welfare check. The subject was located safe off island.

A Friday Harbor resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to report someone was trespassing in an RV he rents for his workers. Deputies went with the RP to the trailer. The male was contacted and agreed to leave.
16-008495 Accident-Injury, Traffic 21:06:18 11/11/16
Deputies were dispatched to the area of the Rosario Resort in regards to a single vehicle rollover accident. The Driver exhibited signs and symptoms of possible DUI. Field Sobriety Tests were given and the Driver was arrested for DUI.

Reporting deputy was dispatched to the Friday Harbor area in reference to a Theft. The reporting deputy arrived and investigated the incident. One subject was arrested for Theft 3rd Shoplifting.

Reporting deputy was dispatched to a Theft in the Friday Harbor area. The victim reported a theft that occurred a few days earlier. Investigation continues.

Friday Harbor deputies served a protection order and collected 5 firearms from the respondent. The respondent was found to have a Felony record. A report was forwarded to the Prosecutor for possible charges.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a dog at large. The dog was a male husky type dog with no collar and it was unknown who the dog belonged to. The Deputy brought the dog to the animal shelter.

A Lopez Island deputy observed suspicious activity on a dock in the Mackaye Harbor area. Investigating further, 12 people with flashlights were found observing marine life. No further action was necessary.

Reporting deputy was dispatched to the Friday Harbor area in reference to a Domestic. The reporting deputy arrived and contacted the involved parties. After investigating the incident, it was found to be verbal only. Involved parties agreed to separate for the day.

Reporting deputy was dispatched to a Theft in the Friday Harbor area. The reporting deputy arrived and contacted the victim. The victim advised several vehicles had been entered but nothing appears missing. Report taken for information purposes.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched for a welfare check after a friend could not reach a Lopez resident by phone on her birthday. The Lopez woman was located safe, and wished a happy birthday.

SJC Sheriff Deputies followed up on a tip from a citizen regarding the whereabouts of a wanted person. The wanted person was found, arrested and transported to Friday Harbor without incident.

Reporting deputy was dispatched to the San Juan Island area in reference to an Overdose. The reporting deputy arrive and made contact with the involved parties. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched to the Lopez Elementary School for a report of a dog that came visiting unannounced. The owner was located and warned.

Deputies were dispatched to an accident at Guard and Tucker. A 300 foot trail of car parts led from a damaged parked truck to a car with serious front end damage. The driver was contacted and found to be intoxicated and was arrested and booked into jail, pending court.

Reporting deputy was contacted at the Sheriff’s office in Friday Harbor in reference to a Wanted Person. The reporting deputy took the person into custody and booked the person on a warrant.
