A Lopez Island Deputy took a fraud report from a Lopez resident regarding a utility bill scam. The reporting party did not lose any money in the scam which is recurring throughout the county.

19-009348 Accident-NonInj 12:11:30 11/06/19
A Lopez Island Deputy responded to a reported non-injury crash of a car off the roadway on Fisherman Bay Rd near Austin Ln. A driver had pulled off the road to wait for the school bus and misjudged the ditch and had gotten stuck. There was no damage and the car was pulled out by a passerby.

A San Juan Deputy was dispatched to a report of dog bite. A report was taken.

A Lopez Island Deputy was called about a suspicious subject observed in Lopez Village. The subject was identified and found to be staying nearby. No further action was taken.

19-009365 Sick or Injured Animal 11:20:20 11/07/19

A Deputy on Orcas Island had to euthanize a deer that had been struck by a vehicle.

19-009366 Trespassing 11:22:35 11/07/19
A Deputy served a Lopez Island resident a trespass warning letter. The letter warned the resident that he could face criminal trespassing charges if he went on to the properties that were listed on the letter. A report was completed.

19-009375 Alcohol Offense 13:10:21 11/07/19
A citizen on Orcas Island contacted a Deputy with concerns regarding what the person believed to be a highly intoxicated individual that was walking in the road. The Deputy contacted the individual who was close to home. The Deputy made sure the person made it there.

19-009383 Wanted Person 16:15:22 11/07/19
An Orcas Deputy arrested a man who was in violation of his release conditions. He was transported to jail to await arraignment.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a harassment complaint. The Deputy learned the complaint involved a property and unwanted contact dispute between a couple in the midst of a divorce. The Deputy advised the complainant this is a civil issue and no law enforcement action would be taken.

A Deputy on San Juan took a report of fraud.

19-009405 Animal at Large 17:43:04 11/08/19
A resident of Orcas Island found a dog running at large. The dog did not have any identification. The dog was delivered to a Deputy and booked into the Animal Shelter.

An Orcas Deputy was dispatched to an Agency Assist near Eastsound.

19-009409 Assault – Body Force 20:49:35 11/08/19
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a third-party report of a domestic violence incident. An investigation was initiated, which resulted in the arrest of the suspect.

An Orcas Island Deputy was dispatched to a motor vehicle theft. The vehicle was later located nearby by the owner. A report was taken.

19-009426 Attempted Suicide 14:58:30 11/09/19
Orcas Island Deputies were dispatched to a suicide attempt. Upon investigation it was determined that no attempt was made. The subject was left at home after a discussion of resources on the island. A report was taken.

19-009431 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 15:49:19 11/09/19
A Lopez Island resident reported a suspicious subject in the area of Mud Bay and Center Rd. The subject was an off-island visitor walking/hitchhiking to the ferry landing to catch a departing ferry.

A Lopez Island Deputy took a report of a stolen wallet from an island resident.

19-009433 Death Investigation 16:39:24 11/09/19
Deputies responded to a Lopez Island residence for a death investigation. It was determined that the decedent had been receiving hospice care and that he passed away due to natural causes. A report was completed.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a report that someone walked out of a bar without paying.

19-009444 Sick or Injured Animal 11:53:23 11/10/19

A Lopez Island Deputy was called to euthanize an injured deer.

19-009450 Animal Bite 16:06:35 11/10/19
A juvenile was bit by a dog while jogging on Lopez. Deputies located the dog and owner the following day. The owner was issued a criminal citation for a public nuisance dog: menace or bite. A dangerous dog declaration will be requested.

19-009451 Traffic Stop 16:12:25 11/10/19
A Lopez Island Deputy stopped a vehicle for running a stop sign. The driver was ticketed for the infraction and arrested on a Seattle Municipal Court warrant. The subject was booked into jail in lieu of $10,000 bail pending transfer to Seattle for court.

19-009454 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 21:28:07 11/10/19
A Lopez resident arrived home to find a light on, which they thought was off when the left the home two days prior. The Deputy searched the house. The resident noted nothing in the house appeared to be disturbed.

A Lopez Island Deputy took a hit and run, property damage report from a property owner that discovered a vehicle had left the roadway and caused damage before leaving the scene sometime during the night.

19-009466 Wanted Person 15:34:10 11/11/19
A local man was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant. Bail was posted and a new court date was issued.

A Lopez Island Deputy arrested a subject on a Superior Court warrant for Contempt- Fail to Pay Child Support. The subject was taken to the Lopez Substation and posted bail and was given a court date and released.
