A student at the Friday Harbor High School was found to be under the influence of marijuana while in class. The student was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia so the school administration contacted the Sheriffs Office. Juvenile Services was notified.

We received multiple complaints reference a male subject talking and yelling at inanimate objects. Deputies made contact with the subject and attempted to redirect him to Anacortes with negative results. The subject was trespassed from several businesses.

A Deputy was dispatched to an Eastsound address in regards to a Protection Order Violation.The subject was located the next day along with controlled substances on his person. The subject was arrested.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched for a report of a subject hunting illegally on county land. A foot search of the area failed to locate the hunter.
16-008836 Wanted Person 14:08:49 11/25/16
Orcas deputies were informed a wanted subject was seen walking in Eastsound. The subject was located and arrested and transported by patrol boat to Friday Harbor to await arraignment.
16-008845 Citizen Assist 19:49:52 11/25/16
A Lopez Island Deputy responded to a residence on Mud Bay Road after a motorist struck a dog that unexpectedly ran into the road. The dog was transported to a veterinarian for examination and treatment. It subsequently died. There was no evidence of a crime. A report was completed.

Lopez deputies were dispatched for a report of a vehicle off the roadway on Cousins Road. The driver was located unharmed at his residence, and the car was towed.

16-008869 Accident-NonInj 22:17:21 11/26/16
A driver on West Valley Rd. missed the curve near Raven Ridge Rd. and went down the bank on an old logging road. The vehicle ended up high centered on a boulder. Tow was called to remove the vehicle. There were no injuries and the accident may be medical/age related.

Deputies saw a fight in front of China Pearl. By the time they reached the scene, people were separated. Two intoxicated males were taken to the ER for exam and stitches. No one wanted to press charges or explain what had happened. The parties were treated and taken home.
16-008878 Burglary – Residential 09:36:23 11/27/16
Reporting deputy was dispatched to a Residential Burglary in the San Juan Island area. The reporting deputy contacted the involved parties. The incident was civil in nature. Two of the involved were given no trespass warnings.

Reporting deputy was dispatched to a Residential Burglary in the Friday Harbor area. The involved party was contacted. Informational report was taken.
16-008890 Accident-Injury, Traffic 17:06:10 11/27/16
A Deputy was dispatched to an injury collision in the Eastsound area. A Deputy arrived and completed an initial investigation which led to a DUI arrest. There were no injuries.
16-008893 Traffic Hazard 20:10:26 11/27/16
A Deputy in Friday Harbor found a bumper in the roadway. The investigation showed that it was part of an unreported hit and run collision. This case is currently under investigation.
