An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a domestic incident in the Eastsound area. The Deputy learned that it was a verbal argument, and that no crime was committed. The Deputy provided the parties with resources they can contact. The incident was documented.
25-007968 Vehicle Theft 12:28:18 11/19/25
Deputies responded to a report of a theft of a vehicle on San Juan Island. Deputies contacted the victim to discover a golf cart had been stripped to its frame. An informational report was taken.
25-007975 Domestic Dispute or Assault 14:58:35 11/19/25
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on San Juan Island for a report of a possible mental health crisis resulting in a domestic dispute. Deputies contacted the reporting party. It was determined that they did not need aid and were in contact with Peace Health.

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a civil dispute on Orcas Island. The dispute involved a vehicle that was promised to be destroyed and then later found illegally parked on Orcas. The registered owner failed to notify the Department of Licensing (DOL) that vehicle was sold.

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a civil incident in the Turtleback Mountain area. The Deputy learned that no crime was committed, and the family could benefit from counseling. The incident was documented.

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a non-residential burglary in Eastsound. The Deputy learned that the incident was a vandalism case involving a business. If you have any information about a recent vandalism in downtown Eastsound contact the Sheriff’s Office.

Lopez Deputies responded to a landlord tenant / mental / family disturbance situation. No crime was committed. The involved parties separated. An agreement was reached to store a handgun at another uninvolved persons location, for overall safety.

Orcas Island Deputies served an arrest warrant to a local resident. He was taken into custody. He was able to arrange for bail to be paid, averted jail and was released under his own recognizance.

Orcas Island Deputies responded to a property for a suspicious person reported. The subject was not located. On 11/21/2025 a different Deputy was able to identify the person by a photograph taken by the reporting party. A trespass warning letter will be served to the subject when located.

San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a burglary. An unknown person unlawfully entered New Day Recovery Cafe and caused a significant amount of damage inside. This case is still under investigation.

Orcas Deputies responded to a report of vandalism on Lopez Island. A vehicle antenna had been broken during the night. A report was taken.

A Lopez resident called to advise Deputies on potential issues with a former spouse and pending court action.

Orcas Deputies responded by telephone to a report of perceived harassment that took place online. The incident was documented.

25-008045 Parking Problem 11:11:09 11/22/25
An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a parking problem at the Orcas Island ferry terminal Park and Ride. The Deputy learned that a vehicle exceeded the 72-hour abandoned vehicle notice and submitted a request to San Juan County Public Works for authorization to tow the abandoned vehicle.

A Friday Harbor resident turned in a pellet gun for disposal. It was booked into the property and evidence room.

Orcas Island Deputies responded to a report of a fight in progress. Multiple interviews were conducted. A local resident was arrested for domestic violence assault and transported to the Friday Harbor jail.

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a suspicious incident near the Glenwood Springs area. The Deputy learned that the suspicious person entered the property of a resident who would like to have the person trespassed from the property. The incident was documented.

A Lopez driver was involved in a single vehicle collision. The case is under investigation for potential criminal charges.

A Lopez resident reported a juvenile issue to a Deputy. The case was referred to the proper office for follow up.

Deputies were dispatched to a vandalism complaint in Eastsound. The suspect was identified and arrested the next day.
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 24

A Deputy on Orcas responded to vandalism at a local business. A report was taken.
25-008080 Civil Problem 09:54:52 11/24/25
A Lopez resident called about an ongoing civil issue regarding a shared well. A report was completed, and a suggestion was made to handle this problem with the involved party’s attorneys.

A report was made of a car driving off the road into a ditch. The driver was contacted and information was taken. There was little damage to the property where the car drove off and it is being taken care of between the driver and the property owner.

A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of a found cell phone that had been brought into the Sheriff’s Office. The phone was broken and it is unknown who it belongs to. It was later booked into evidence as found property.

A Deputy on Orcas received a call about a landlord/tenant problem. The caller was provided with resources.

Deputies were dispatched to a vandalism complaint in Eastsound. The suspect was identified and arrested the next day.

A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched with Lopez Island Fire & EMS to an animal bite call. The dog owner had been bit while breaking up a fight between his dog and a family member’s dog. The incident was documented.

A Deputy on San Juan Island took custody of a .22 bullet that had been located on a walking path in Friday Harbor. The bullet was placed into evidence for destruction.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a single vehicle accident in the parking lot of PIMC. The driver was backing out of their parking space and turned too shapely, getting the front end of their truck stuck on a fire hydrant.

A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report from a person, who knew something had happened to them, but did not have all of the information or any evidence to support what they were reporting. The Deputy listened to their experience and completed a report.
