A Lopez Island Deputy completed junk vehicle affidavits at the request of a property owner to facilitate the disposal of scrap vehicles.
21-004238 Noise Complaint /not dogs 09:44:35 05/25/21
A Lopez Island Deputy contacted a property owner and their contractor about a neighbor’s complaint about early morning construction noise.
21-004241 Missing Person 11:09:37 05/25/21
A woman was reported missing from Shaw Island. It was suspected she got on the morning ferry and went to Anacortes. An investigation is currently underway.
21-004242 Fraud 12:56:54 05/25/21
An Orcas resident reported he was a victim a fraud regarding the payment of a vehicle he was selling. The reporting party learned the payment was with a fraudulent check. He was not out any money. Informational report at this time.

A citizen turned in a cell phone that was found at Island Market. The cell phone was booked into the property room at the Orcas Substation.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of fraud. At this time, there are no suspects and the crime appeared to have been committed out of county. The agency in which the crime occurred has been notified.
21-004250 Welfare Check 15:09:58 05/25/21
A Lopez Island Deputy was sent to investigate an excited 911 call. No emergency existed at the location.
21-004257 Alcohol Offense 18:00:32 05/25/21
A Deputy on San Juan Island was dispatched to the Ferry Landing for a report of an intoxicated driver. The driver was contacted and arrested for DUI and DWLS 3rd Degree.
21-004259 Traffic Hazard 19:00:22 05/25/21
A Lopez Deputy responded to a traffic hazard. A trailer broke in the middle of Fisherman Bay Road. The owner was able to move the trailer without the assistance of a tow.
21-004260 Domestic Dispute or Assault 19:22:40 05/25/21
Deputies on Orcas were dispatched to a possible domestic violence incident near Rosario. After an investigation was completed it was found to be only a verbal argument. A report was completed.
21-004261 Domestic Dispute or Assault 19:41:53 05/25/21
A Lopez Deputy responded to a domestic call. Upon investigation, no crime was committed. A report was taken.

An Orcas Deputy met with a victim of domestic violence. A report was taken.
21-004280 Fraud 14:36:20 05/26/21
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of fraud. There are no suspects at this time and the incident has been documented.
21-004282 Theft 15:18:35 05/26/21
A Deputy on Orcas was dispatched to a theft call near Eastsound. A report was taken, and the case will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for sentencing.
21-004286 Domestic Dispute or Assault 17:12:39 05/26/21
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a domestic incident. Parties stated this was an argument over a parenting plan. No crime was reported.
21-004288 Welfare Check 17:24:54 05/26/21
A San Juan Deputy responded to a welfare check. The subject was found to be heavily intoxicated and a report was made.
21-004289 Found Property 19:21:50 05/26/21
Lopez Island Deputies processed found property. The items were placed in the evidence room for safe keeping.
21-004290 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 20:41:34 05/26/21
A Lopez Deputy responded to a suspicious person call. A person was found cooking steak and potatoes over a fire on a county beach. The person was instructed to put the fire out and given a warning for the unauthorized fire. Luckily for the individual, the food was cooked to completion.

21-004293 Theft 04:57:13 05/27/21
A Deputy on Orcas was dispatched to a possible stolen vehicle. After an investigation was completed it was determined that it was not stolen. A report was taken.
21-004298 Unconscious 10:43:18 05/27/21
San Juan County Sheriff Office responded to a reported unconscious call. It was later discovered that the subject was ok, but further investigation lead to the discovery of possession of a controlled substance. The subject was arrested and released. The case is being referred to Compass Health.
21-004302 Domestic Dispute or Assault 11:52:23 05/27/21
An Orcas Deputy responded to a reported domestic dispute in Eastsound. An investigation was conducted and report was written.
21-004309 DUI 16:28:25 05/27/21
Deputies in Friday Harbor investigated a possible DUI. Deputies stopped the vehicle on Argyle Ave. An investigation was conducted, and the driver was arrested for driving without a valid Operator’s License, violating a court order, trespassing and Malicious Mischief.
21-004315 Domestic Dispute or Assault 20:10:13 05/27/21
Deputies on Orcas responded to a domestic near West Beach. After an investigation was completed, the suspect was arrested and booked in Friday Harbor.
FRIDAY, MAY 28
21-004324 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 09:48:39 05/28/21
A Deputy was dispatched to a Suspicious Circumstance in the San Juan Island area. The reporting Deputy contacted the person calling. The person was reporting some concerns about someone contacting a minor child. Informational report taken.
SATURDAY, MAY 29
21-004376 Assault – Aggravated 10:11:17 05/29/21
A Lopez Island Deputy responded to a report of a possible assault in the Lopez Island Village. The investigation revealed that two people had a business related dispute over what could be displayed and sold at an organized sales event. There was no evidence of a crime and a report was completed.
21-004398 Found Property 15:12:08 05/29/21
A San Juan Deputy entered a found item into evidence.
21-004411 Citizen Assist 17:21:09 05/29/21
San Juan Deputy responded to a disturbance at a grocery store. The subject at issue refused to wear a face covering and became disruptive when asked to. The subject left before Deputy’s arrival. The subject was identified and a report and trespass letter were completed.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a theft complaint. An investigation commenced and is on-going.
21-004414 Accident-NonInj 18:10:44 05/29/21
A Deputy on San Juan Island tried to stop a vehicle for speeding on Beaverton Valley Rd. The vehicle turned onto Barnswallow Way and collided into a tree. The driver was arrested for driving without a valid operator license. The driver was also issued an NOI for speeding and no insurance.
SUNDAY, MAY 30
1-004442 Accident-NonInj 16:12:20 05/30/21
A Deputy on Orcas Island happened upon a collision. A vehicle had collided with two parked vehicles. The driver was issued a notice of infraction for negligent driving.
21-004445 Boating Problem 16:39:10 05/30/21
A San Juan Deputy located two boats moored at the Roche Harbor County dock that had been observed and tagged the previous night. The vessels had not moved and were issued infractions for overtime mooring.
21-004450 Vehicle Prowl 18:59:28 05/30/21
A citizen located an intoxicated male subject sleeping in his vehicle parked on First St. near Spring St. on San Juan Island. The citizen confronted the subject and he fled the area. Deputies checked the area but were unable to locate the subject. Report made.
21-004452 Boating Problem 19:28:00 05/30/21
A Deputy on Orcas Island issued a ticket for violation of San Juan County Code 10.28.010 – Mooring at a Public Landing.
MONDAY, MAY 31
21-004460 Disorderly Conduct 04:35:52 05/31/21
San Juan Deputies were dispatched to a domestic incident. The suspect was arrested on felony assault charges and booked into jail.
21-004480 Area Check 15:05:40 05/31/21
Deputies on San Juan Island contacted two subjects consuming open containers of beer in public at Jacksons Beach. Both subjects were issued notices of infraction for the open containers of alcohol in public.
21-004481 Theft 15:45:08 05/31/21
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a theft complaint. The complainant was contacted and a report was taken. The investigation is ongoing.
