A Deputy responded to an unattended death incident on Lopez Island. The investigation revealed that the decedent passed from natural causes.

18-003333 Theft 20:12:10 05/23/18
A Deputy made contact with a citizen who reported her prescription medication missing.

18-003334 Burn Investigation 22:17:10 05/23/18
A Deputy responded to a reported illegal burn investigation in Eastsound. Upon making contact, the persons at the residence were aggressive and hostile. A male suspect was arrested for Obstructing a LE Officer and a female suspect was arrested for same offense.

A Lopez Deputy was contacted regarding an attempted fraud via a phone call. No loss occurred. A report was completed.

Deputies arrived in the Highland neighborhood to investigate a report of domestic violence. Deputies found no assault took place.

Deputies responded to a San Juan Island residence to investigate a report of a disturbance. The situation was settled by contact.

A Deputy arrested a Friday Harbor man on two active warrants issued out of Anacortes PD. The male was transported to the station and booked into jail awaiting transport and court.

A Lopez Deputy was contacted about an unwanted person. A referral to the court for a civil protection order was provided and a report completed.

A Deputy on Orcas responded to a report of a hit and run between two vehicles. A report was taken.

A Deputy responded to a Suspicious circumstances call in Friday Harbor. The Deputy spoke with the parties involved, gathered the information, and completed a report. No further investigation.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Fraud case in the Friday Harbor area. The caller was contacted and a report taken.

A Deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding on Orcas Road in the late night hours. Further investigation revealed probable cause to believe the driver was impaired. The driver was arrested from Driving under the Influence. He was booked into San Juan County Jail in Friday Harbor.

A Deputy responded to a one car no injury accident in Friday Harbor involving a truck off the road in a ditch. The truck was towed via private tow and an accident report made.

A Lopez Deputy investigated a possible sighting of a missing juvenile. It is unlikely the juvenile was on Lopez. A report was written.

A Lopez Deputy euthanized an injured deer.

A Deputy was dispatched to the San Juan Island area in reference to a Theft. The caller reported medication missing. Investigation continues…

Lopez Island Deputies received a report that a man had exposed himself to two minor girls on a Lopez Island beach. The incident is under investigation.

18-003403 Accident-Injury, Traffic 21:19:11 05/26/18
A Lopez Island Deputy investigated a single vehicle minor injury crash on Center Rd. The driver, who was alone in the car was ticketed for driving with wheels off roadway after leaving the roadway and striking a tree.

A Lopez Island Deputy was called about a barking dog that had been barking for hours for no reason after being left alone. The homeowner was located and the problem resolved.

A Lopez Island Deputy, assisted by Lopez Fire and EMS personnel successfully rescued 3 kayakers in distress on the water off Humphrey Head.

A Deputy was dispatched to the Friday Harbor area in reference to a Trespassing. The reporting Deputy arrived and contacted the involved person. One person was trespassed from the business.

18-003423 Traffic Violation 20:25:26 05/27/18
A Deputy was dispatched to a DUI in the San Juan Island area. The reporting Deputy located the vehicle and contacted the driver. The driver was arrested for DUI.

18-003431 Illegal Burning 20:35:53 05/27/18
Deputies responded to a report of a Fire/Illegal Burn complaint on Waldron Island. Deputies and a fire chief made contact with the individual and a report was completed. Fire Marshall will follow up.

A Lopez Island Deputy was called about a distressed dog barking, locked in a parked car in Lopez Village. The owner arrived before the Deputy and resolved the problem.

18-003436 Litter/Pollution/Public Health 10:31:23 05/28/18
Abandoned scrap metal items were found on county property near Lopez Fire station 42. The involved person will be issued a citation for littering when located.

A Deputy on Orcas responded to a report of a domestic violence incident. A report was taken.

18-003444 Vehicle Theft 13:37:32 05/28/18
A Deputy on Orcas responded to a report of a vehicle theft. The investigation revealed to be a dispute of property within the family.

18-003448 Assault – Body Force 16:17:04 05/28/18
A Deputy was dispatched to the Friday Harbor area in reference to a Domestic. The reporting Deputy arrived and contacted the involved people. One person was arrested for domestic assault.

18-003455 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 19:47:24 05/28/18
A Deputy responded to a parking lot of an Eastsound business on a report of a person peering through several vehicles. Upon arrival, the subject was gone. The Deputy waited and saw the suspect return. The suspect was detained, questioned, identified, and ultimately released.

A Deputy was dispatched to an Animal at Large complaint in Friday Harbor. The dog owner was cited for dog at large.
