17-002695 Boating Accident Injury 07:43:31 05/17/17
Lopez Island deputies along with Lopez Island Fire and EMS responded to a report of a sunken vessel off the south end of Lopez. All four subjects aboard were rescued by another nearby boater who brought them to shore. The 21 foot boat sunk in 300′ of water. A report was taken.

17-002696 Theft 09:22:09 05/17/17
An Orcas deputy noticed that the fenders on the patrol boat’s dock had been stolen. An investigation is being conducted.

17-002697 Weapons Offense 09:30:02 05/17/17
A Deputy was dispatched to a Juvenile Problem in Friday Harbor. A report was completed and forwarded to Juvenile Office.

17-002698 Domestic Dispute or Assault 12:30:21 05/17/17
Lopez Island deputies were sent to a family disturbance between a father and his adult son. Both parties indicated that only words had been exchanged. The parties willingly separated. A report was taken.

17-002705 Missing Person 17:46:24 05/17/17
A Deputy spoke with a Lopez Island resident regarding a possible missing person complaint. The reporting person was concerned that he had not seen his friend for over two weeks and did not know his whereabouts. The Deputy was able to confirm the person’s whereabouts. A report was completed.

A Deputy was called to a single car accident near Eastsound. There were no injuries. The driver was arrested for DUI.

17-002715 Animal at Large 11:01:37 05/18/17
An Orcas deputy responded to a report of a dog attacking and killing chickens. An investigation was conducted and the incident was settled by contact.

17-002717 Controlled Substance Problem 12:46:58 05/18/17
A black pouch containing a metal tin was turned in to the S/O by as citizen who had found it on West Side Road. Within the tin was found a glass smoking pipe and a small plastic bag containing a small amount of a crystalline substance. The substance was tested with a positive result.

17-002724 Parking Problem 16:11:36 05/18/17
Lopez Island Deputies were flagged down by a Lopez Island resident. She asked the deputies to check into an illegally parked vehicle in the Lopez Village. Deputies spoke with the owner of the vehicle, who agreed to move the vehicle and a report was taken.

17-002736 Explosives Problem 20:00:55 05/18/17
A deputy was investigating a report of explosions in the rural area of San Juan Island. The deputy was unable to locate the source.

17-002748 Trespassing 11:38:07 05/19/17
A Friday Harbor business owner reported trespass. The trespasser was an employee, who has since been terminated. Investigation continues in to whether this is criminal or civil in nature.

17-002752 Unwanted Person 13:13:19 05/19/17
Friday Harbor deputies responded to a civil dispute. Homeowner was advised he needed to formally evict the person who has been staying with him. Homeowner went to the courthouse to start the process. The tenant was advised not to cause any damage to the home.

Lopez Island Deputies were dispatched to a Vandalism call on Hummel Lake Road. An informational report was taken.

17-002757 Animal at Large 16:33:14 05/19/17
A reporting deputy was dispatched to a Dog at Large in the San Juan Island area. The reporting deputy arrived and caught the dog. The dog was taken to the shelter and the owner was issued a warning letter.

17-002760 Boating Acc NI 19:00:35 05/19/17
Lopez Island Deputies were dispatched to a local marina for a non-injury boating accident. A witness of the accident pointed out the vessels involved and gave a written statement. A report was taken.

17-002773 Animal Noise 12:28:37 05/20/17
A Deputy responded to a noise complaint in Eastsound. The property owner was contacted and informed of the county ordinance.

17-002775 Trespassing 14:56:10 05/20/17
A Lopez Island deputy responded to a report of a group of ten bicyclists that had scaled the fence at Richardson Fuel and climbed onto the fuel tanks. They were gone when the deputy arrived.

17-002780 Accident-NonInj 19:50:37 05/20/17
Orcas deputies responded to a report of a one vehicle accident with a vehicle in the ditch. After further investigation it was determined that there was probable cause to arrest the occupant for Physical Control of a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence. She was processed, cited, and released.

17-002784 Accident-Injury, Traffic 21:21:37 05/20/17
Deputies arrived at a traffic accident on the West Side of San Juan Island. The driver was transported to the hospital and later arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicants.

17-002787 Medical Emergency 22:09:48 05/20/17
A deputy was dispatched to an Agency Assist in the San Juan Island area. The reporting deputy responded and had contact with an intoxicated juvenile. Report on the incident was taken.

17-002792 Accident-NonInj 00:57:56 05/21/17
Deputies responded to the Deer Harbor area regarding a vehicle vs power transformer collision. Upon arrival, no persons were on scene. Contact was made with a responsible party and the driver was uninjured. A collision report was completed.

17-002793 Property Damage, Non Vandalism 01:06:53 05/21/17
A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a vandalism. It was reported that someone had tipped over a large pot, breaking it. Currently there are no suspects.

17-002794 Malicious Mischief 06:56:34 05/21/17
A Friday Harbor business owner reported the flag pole in front of his business had been pulled down and destroyed. It was okay the night before when he closed and he found it folded into several pieces in the morning. There are no suspects at this time.

17-002801 Theft 11:42:24 05/21/17
A Mercer Island woman reported the theft of her bicycle from outside a Lopez residence. The theft occurred sometime during the night. A report was taken.

17-002805 Assault – Aggravated 12:59:07 05/21/17
A deputy was dispatched to the Friday Harbor area in reference to a Disturbance. The reporting deputy arrived and contacted the involved parties. Investigation continues…

17-002807 Burglary – Residential 17:13:33 05/21/17
Orcas Deputies responded to a Residential Burglary in Progress in Olga. Officers arrived and detained two males at the scene. After further investigation it was determined that it was a civil matter. Report made.

A Lopez Island man was cited for his dog running at large. The man had been repeatedly warned by neighbors and deputies, and the dog continued to roam.

17-002813 Malicious Mischief 10:11:33 05/22/17
A Friday Harbor citizen came to the office to report vandalism, claiming neighbors cut trees on his property. Investigation shows that the property line is in dispute and there are court cases pending on this. The reporting party was advised that we had to wait for the court resolution.

17-002816 Accident-NonInj 12:16:02 05/22/17
Lopez Island deputies were called to investigate a minor injury traffic collision on Center Rd at Lopez Sound Rd. A southbound Honda was struck from behind by a Lopez Island Fire District fire engine. The fire engine was not responding to a call. The crash is under investigation.

Orcas Deputies responded to a report of an accident with possible injuries. After further investigation it was found that there were no injuries and only minor damage to the vehicle. Drivers information was exchanged and no Collision Report was needed.

Lopez deputies took a report of a minor collision which occurred at the scene of a larger collision.

A Deputy was dispatched to a theft in Friday Harbor. A report was a taken and there is no further information at this time.

17-002834 Theft 09:40:02 05/23/17
A Deputy was dispatched to an Eastsound business on a possible stolen tail light from a vehicle parked overnight. No evidence to prove a theft occurred. A report was taken at their request.
