A Deputy was dispatched to a Child Abuse call in the Friday Harbor area. The Deputy contacted the people involved. The incident revolved around disciplining a child. No crime observed but incident referred to another agency. Report taken.

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a boating problem on the 800 block of Deer Harbor Rd. Owners of a boat dragging anchor were contacted and the problem was rectified.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Theft in the Friday Harbor area. It was reported that medication had been taken from a secured location. Report taken.
24-002856 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 15:50:41 05/16/24
A Deputy responded to a report of a suspicious item located in the woods near a public access trail. The item had been in the location for a long time and was severely weathered. Further investigation lead to the discovery that the item was a graphite battery and did not pose a hazard.

24-002872 Wanted Person 22:11:30 05/17/24
Deputies on Orcas Island received information on the whereabouts of a wanted person with a local warrant. Deputies responded to the address in the daylight hours on 05/18/2024, located the subject and arrested him without incident. The subject was booked into San Juan County Jail.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a bar fight. The victim was saved from serious injury by an employee. This investigation is ongoing.

A Lopez Deputy received a report of an individual putting inappropriate nonconsensual bumper stickers on another person’s vehicle in a ferry line. Washington State Patrol and Anacortes PD responded and gave a strict warning to the bumper sticker culprit.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a report of an individual experiencing a mental health crisis. A report was written and referred to Compass Health.
SUNDAY, MAY 19

A Deputy on San Juan responded to a two vehicle accident in a parking lot. The driver of one vehicle was stopped in the parking lot. The driver of the second car reversed without looking behind them, colliding into the stopped vehicle. The parties exchanged information. A report was completed.

A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a call regarding an individual experiencing a mental health issue. The individual was seeing people who were not actually there. The officer helped clear the home to assure there was no one inside and provided resources. The incident was documented.

A Deputy on Orcas responded to a possible theft. After an investigation, it was found that the items had been moved by a family member.

A Deputy on San Juan Island took a rifle from a citizen who wanted it held for another person who had requested that we hold it for safekeeping. The rifle was booked into evidence for safekeeping.

Deputies on San Juan Island took a female into custody on an outstanding warrant. The female was booked into the San Juan County Jail. A report was completed.
