A San Juan Deputy responded to a community complaint of possible animal cruelty/neglect regarding sheep. The complaint was investigated and unfounded. An informational report was completed.
21-003835 Theft 12:33:53 05/11/21
A Lopez Island Deputy took a theft report from a resident regarding a pride flag that was taken overnight.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Welfare Check in the San Juan Island area. The Deputy contacted the people involved. Everyone was fine. Report taken.

21-003851 Accident-Injury, Traffic 09:44:57 05/12/21
A Deputy on Orcas responded to an accident on Mt. Baker Road. The injured party was evaluated and released. The at-fault driver was issued an infraction for no insurance and expired registration. There was minor to no damage to both vehicles.
21-003853 Theft 10:25:56 05/12/21
A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of a theft from a business. Due to not having functioning video surveillance there are no suspects at this time. The incident was documented.
21-003862 Theft 13:04:20 05/12/21
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a theft from a local business. About $1500 in items were suspected to be stolen. Most of the items were recovered and probable cause for theft second degree will be sent to the prosecutor’s office on the suspect.

Lopez Deputies worked on a landlord tenant dispute. Both parties were advised of their rights and responsibilities in the matter.

A Deputy spoke with a Lopez Island resident on regarding a suspected anti-harassment order violation. A report was completed and forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.

San Juan Deputies responded to a report of harassment. The incident was not criminal in nature at this time and the reporting party was advised of possible remedies.

An Orcas Island Deputy was dispatched to a residential burglary call. A report was taken. The investigation is ongoing.

A Deputy responded to a call back report of a Fraud in Friday Harbor. The caller reported that an unknown person tried to cash a check on her account and the check was returned for insufficient funds. There is no suspect information or workable leads at this time. Report made.
21-003886 Abandoned Vehicle 12:10:34 05/13/21
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was located on the county right of way in a ditch and appeared to be inoperable. The vehicle was impounded.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a theft from a local business. The juvenile suspect was contacted and issued a trespass notice.

San Juan Deputies responded to a report of theft. The victim stated they did not wish to pursue charges against the suspect, but did want them to be trespassed from their property. A trespass letter was completed and signed by the victim.

A Deputy received a theft complaint from a Lopez Island resident. The reporting person stated an unidentified person stole an item he purchased on line after a FedEx employee dropped it off at a gate near his residence on Hummel Lake Rd. A report was completed.

A Lopez resident reported the theft of a Pride flag.
21-003909 Death Investigation 10:40:17 05/14/21
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of found bones. A human skull was located and two other bones which are unknown at this time. The case is currently under investigation.
21-003914 Burglary – Residential 12:16:06 05/14/21
A Lopez Deputy was called to investigate a possible attempted burglary to a residence near the village. A report was completed.
21-003920 Trespassing 14:06:02 05/14/21
A Deputy was dispatched to a Trespassing in the Friday Harbor area. The reporting Deputy contacted the people involved. One person was served with a Trespass Warning Letter. Report taken.
21-003922 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 15:05:29 05/14/21
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a suspicious incident. The suspect was trespassed from a property and advised not to ask people to sell them controlled substances.

San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a domestic dispute. The parties reported that no criminal act had occurred, and they separated voluntarily.

A San Juan Deputy responded to an Animal At Large call. The dog was located and the owner identified. The owner said she didn’t want the dog back and the dog was taken to the animal shelter.

Deputies on Orcas Island responded to a residence reference a report of domestic violence. Contact with the reporting party was made, and it was determined there was no crime committed. An incident report was taken for documentation purposes.

A San Juan community member called to report being the victim of identity theft. An unknown person opened a credit card in her name and used it on the East Coast. A report was taken and the victim was provided with resources.
21-003992 Mental Health 16:22:48 05/16/21
A Lopez Deputy contacted an intoxicated person who was making inappropriate calls to 911. The person was verbally admonished and reminded of the proper use of 911.

A Deputy from the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office, Orcas Island sub-station, contacted a citizen who found an Apple I-phone on the ground on North Beach Rd. A found property report was completed and the phone was booked into evidence for safe keeping.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a complaint of loud music from a residence. The homeowner was advised to the noise ordinance and the escalating fine schedule if the violations continued.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Traffic Accident in the Friday Harbor area. The reporting Deputy arrived and discovered a Vehicle versus bike traffic accident. The bike rider was traveling the wrong direction in a one way. Report taken.
21-004014 Wanted Person 11:16:06 05/17/21
A Deputy arrested a local man on an active warrant issued out of San Juan County Superior Court for Assault in Violation of a Protection/No Contact Order & Assault in the 4th degree. The male was booked into jail awaiting a next day hearing. Report made.

San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a domestic. The suspect was located and was informed that a report would be sent to the Prosecutor’s Office for a charging decision.
