23-003243 Explosives Problem 20:09:15 05/10/23
A Deputy took a report of an explosion in the Eastsound area. Descriptions of suspects were provided and the case is being investigated.

THURSDAY, MAY 11
23-003254 Agency Assistance 10:38:48 05/11/23
A San Juan Deputy assisted the Park Rangers at Moran State Park with a female acting suspiciously and erratically. When the Deputy and ranger were walking away, the female initiated contact again and bit the Deputy. She was placed under arrest and transported to San Juan.

23-003257 Trespassing 10:52:22 05/11/23
An Orcas Island Deputy served no trespass warning letters to two individuals who illegally parked and set up camp on private property on the 100 block of Madrona St.

23-003260 Threats 11:35:02 05/11/23
A Lopez Deputy responded to a threats call from Decatur Island. A report was taken.

23-003264 Theft 13:45:17 05/11/23
A Lopez Deputy responded to a theft report. A Lopez citizen reported that vehicle tabs and registration were stolen from a vehicle parked in a private driveway. A report was taken.

23-003267 Welfare Check 15:43:32 05/11/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of a welfare check for a person that was walking in the roadway. The Deputy contacted the person and it was discovered that she had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. She was arrested and was booked into the San Juan County Jail.

23-003281 Vicious Animal 09:30:55 05/12/23
A report of a man yelling at Goats and what sounded like the goats being hit came into the Sheriff’s Office. The owner admitted to yelling at the goats and the loud banging was 2 baby goats running into the side of the goat house.

23-003290 Assault – Body Force 11:57:08 05/12/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island was dispatched to a report of an assault. One person was issued a criminal citation for Assault 4th degree.

23-003307 Citizen Dispute 16:13:29 05/12/23
Lopez Deputies responded to an ongoing citizen dispute over landlord tenant / trespassing issues. The parties will likely need to resolve the issue in civil court due to a history of poor decisions.

23-003313 Traffic Violation 19:54:02 05/12/23
San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a vehicle swerving with a child in the back. The Deputy located the vehicle, which nearly struck the Deputy head-on, resulting in a brief pursuit. The driver was arrested for seven felony and misdemeanor offenses and was booked into jail.

SATURDAY, MAY 13
23-003323 Trespassing 08:46:36 05/13/23
A Lopez Deputy mediated a dispute over an easement. Both parties agreed to work together with their respective attorneys for a resolution.

23-003326 Citizen Assist 09:17:25 05/13/23
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a citizen assist call-back.

23-003341 Theft 15:34:35 05/13/23
A Deputy on Orcas responded to a theft call in Eastsound. The business owner is still working on getting the video surveillance. The case is ongoing.

23-003342 Missing Person 15:50:08 05/13/23
Deputies on San Juan Island were dispatched to a report of a missing youth hiker. The hiker was located with assistance from the Friday Harbor Labs boat and safely returned home.

23-003348 Bleeding BLS 18:30:26 05/13/23
Lopez Deputies assisted Lopez EMS when an intoxicated Lopez individual fell and cut their face. They were examined and transportation to the hospital.

SUNDAY, MAY 14
23-003364 Unwanted Person 11:04:46 05/14/23
A report of an unwanted person was made to the Sheriff’s Office. The Friday Harbor man was asked to leave and given a trespass notice and told not to return.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a two-vehicle collision.

23-003390 Malicious Mischief 19:25:29 05/14/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island was dispatched to a report of vandalism. A report was taken.

23-003396 Harassment 22:59:21 05/14/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island spoke with an individual who wanted to report that they had been receiving unwelcome e-mails, from unknown persons who were name calling. The individual wanted the incident to be documented. A report was completed.

MONDAY, MAY 15
23-003403 Fraud 08:23:22 05/15/23
A Lopez Deputy responded to a fraud call. An individual was having a labor payment dispute with a contracted worked. The matter was determined to be civil.

23-003415 Vicious Animal 14:21:34 05/15/23
A Deputy responded to a report of a possible neglected animal. The animal was found to be possibly under weight and a feeding plan was established with future follow up required.

23-003419 Threats 17:36:11 05/15/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of threats. An individual reported that they felt threatened after a phone call they had. The individual was advised that they can petition for a no contact order through the courts, and to call back if the individual shows up at their residence.

TUESDAY, MAY 16
23-003433 Overdose 03:32:45 05/16/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded with San Juan Fire and EMS to a report of a suspected overdose. EMS was able to revive the victim on scene and were then transported to the hospital for further medical care. A report was completed.

23-003436 Court Order Violation 09:00:56 05/16/23
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a reported protection order violation. After investigation, it was determined that no crime had been committed.

23-003448 Welfare Check 16:49:34 05/16/23
A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to an agency assist. An info report was taken.

23-003449 Found Property 17:33:07 05/16/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of found property. An individual found another individual’s debit card and turned it into the Sheriff’s Office. The Deputy tried to return the card to the owner but was unable to locate them. The card was submitted into evidence as found property.

23-003453 Controlled Substance Problem 19:47:46 05/16/23
Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a report of drugs in Friday Harbor. A male was seen passed out on a bench with drug paraphernalia near him. After talking with the individual, he voluntarily gave the drug paraphernalia to the Deputies. A report was completed.
