A Lopez Deputy responded when a public park bench was moved approximately 300 feet. A park volunteer moved it back to its original place. The bench was undamaged.

A Deputy received a Failure to Redeem packet from a local tow company. The registered owner failed to redeem a vehicle which had been impounded. The registered owner received an infraction for Littering/
Abandoned Vehicle. Report taken.

A Deputy received a Failure to Redeem packet from a local tow company. The registered owner failed to claim an impounded vehicle. The registered owner was given an infraction for Littering/ Abandoned Vehicle. Report taken.

A San Juan Deputy took a report of a hit and run collision. A driver left the road and struck a mailbox before fleeing the area without leaving their contact information at the scene. Deputies learned there was video surveillance footage of the area and are working to identify the suspect.

A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of an order violation. The case was sent to the Prosecutors office for review.

A Deputy received a Found Item. The item was entered into evidence after attempts to contact the owner failed. Report taken.

A Deputy responded to a report of a possible drunk driver that had struck another vehicle and fled the scene. Further investigation revealed probable cause to believe the driver had committed the crimes of Reckless Driving and Hit and Run on an unattended vehicle. The driver was cited.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Dog at Large in the San Juan Island area. The Deputy checked the area and spoke with the person calling. Report taken.
23-001641 Agency Assistance 19:03:43 03/10/23
Deputies on San Juan Island were dispatched to an agency assist at the hospital. A report was taken.

23-001655 Abandoned Vehicle 16:08:34 03/11/23
An Orcas Deputy observed a truck towing a travel trailer abandoned on the side of Orcas Road. The owner has done this in the past and has also left it on private property without permission. This is an ongoing issue that is being addressed.

Lopez Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a driver who had a suspended license. The driver was arrested and booked into jail for driving with a suspended license and operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a local music venue during a rock concert following a 911 hang up call. The Deputy found no emergency, as it was likely a pocket dial from someone rocking out too hard.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a runaway juvenile from Orcas Island. Two juveniles had lied to their guardians about where they were staying and were transported back to Orcas Island via a Sheriff’s Office patrol boat.

A Deputy on San Juan Island was dispatched to a report of a single vehicle accident. The driver was taken into custody for DUI.

A San Juan Deputy stopped a vehicle for expired registration and failure to transfer title. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence and minor in possession of alcohol. The driver was booked into jail.

A Deputy on Orcas responded to a suspicious call near Rosario. The reporting party was advised to call into dispatch, right away, if the suspicious circumstance happened again.

A complaint of odors coming through the walls from a neighboring office in Friday Harbor has been referred to the Town of Friday Harbor for possible civil action.

Deputies on Orcas Island responded to a suspicious circumstance call. The complaint was determined to be unfounded.

Deputies on San Juan responded to a welfare check in Friday Harbor. An individual went for a walk and their phone was turned off. It was believed that they might be at a hotel in Friday Harbor. Deputies were unable to locate the individual that evening and would continue efforts in the morning.

Deputies on San Juan responded to a domestic incident in Friday Harbor. After an investigation, it was determined that no crime had been committed. A report was completed.

An Orcas Deputy was contacted by a citizen requesting a subject be trespassed from his property. A trespass warning letter was completed. An attempt is being made to locate and serve the suspect.

An Orcas Deputy responded to the public library who had requested a person to be trespassed from the facility.

A Friday Harbor woman reported a violation of an anti-harassment order by her neighbor. Investigation continues.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to the Friday Harbor High School because of a reported incident. An investigation is ongoing.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to an anonymous individual’s report of people sleeping in their broken-down vehicle, which was in a parking lot. The Deputy arrived on scene and helped the couple push their vehicle to street parking, out of the parking lot, to wait for a tow.

An Orcas Deputy responded to a parking problem at the Orcas Park & Ride. The vehicles registrations were ran. An attempt to contact the registered owners was done. Public Works was notified of the problem.
