San Juan Deputies located a subject with a warrant. The subject was taken into custody and was booked into the San Juan County Jail.

A Lopez Island Deputy documented a minor collision involving an unoccupied vehicle struck and damaged on Decatur Island. Information report only.
21-001839 Found Property 16:36:44 03/03/21
A Deputy responded to a walk in report of found property. The property owner could not be located and the property submitted to the evidence room. Report made.
21-001840 Missing Person 17:24:45 03/03/21
A community member found two unaccompanied dogs at a San Juan trail head. One of the dogs appeared to have been injured. Deputies assisted getting the animals to veterinary care and reunite them with their owner.

A Deputy on Orcas responded to a vandalism call. An investigation was conducted and there are no suspects at this time.
21-001846 Citizen Dispute 07:15:03 03/04/21
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a citizen dispute in Friday Harbor. No crime appeared to have been committed and a report was made.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of unemployment fraud. A report was made.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a trespassing complaint. The suspect was issued a Criminal Citation for Criminal Trespass in the First Degree.
FRIDAY, MARCH 5
21-001865 Assault – Aggravated 08:04:57 03/05/21
A San Juan Deputy responded to an assault at a business in Friday Harbor. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment and the suspect was located and arrested for assault in the second degree.
21-001880 Accident-NonInj 12:39:16 03/05/21
A Lopez Deputy investigated a single vehicle collision. The driver was issued an infraction and a collision report was completed.
21-001891 Agency Assistance 19:27:41 03/05/21
San Juan Deputies received a request for an Agency Assist from Anacortes PD regarding a Domestic Incident. The incident is still under investigation.
21-001894 Structure Fire 19:38:58 03/05/21
An Orcas Island Deputy responded with Orcas Island Fire & Rescue to a structure fire on Olga Road. Units arrived to find a room and contents fire. It was quickly extinguished and did not spread into the rest of the structure. The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Disturbance in the Friday Harbor area. The Deputy arrived and contacted the people involved. One of the people were in crisis but refused assistance. The person walked away for the area.

San Juan Deputies responded to a request for a welfare check. The involved party was contacted and needed no assistance.

Orcas Island Deputies were dispatched to a disorderly conduct at an Eastsound business. A report was taken.
SATURDAY, MARCH 6
21-001916 Traffic Hazard 13:30:37 03/06/21
A Lopez Island Deputy was sent on a report of a tree down, partially blocking a road. The tree was removed, clearing the road. No further action was necessary.
21-001921 Trouble Unknown 15:27:24 03/06/21
Lopez Island Deputies responded to a residence after an open line 911 call was received. No problem was found there, but in checking further a person nearby had accidentally called 911 through a phone app triggering the response.

A Lopez Island Deputy assisted a citizen by answering questions regarding on-going law enforcement efforts and procedures in San Juan County. A report was completed.
21-001934 Assault – Aggravated 22:08:32 03/06/21
A Deputy was contacted at the Sheriff’s Office in reference to an Assault that occurred in the Friday Harbor area. The person had injuries to their face. The person provided suspect information and a written statement. Charges for Assault were forward to PA’s Office.

A Orcas Island Deputy was dispatched with Orcas Island Fire and Rescue to a reported overdose. The subject was flown off island for treatment. A report was taken.
21-001944 Trespassing 10:14:31 03/07/21
A Deputy on San Juan responded to a trespassing complaint. Upon contact it was found to be a civil issue over property boundaries.
21-001945 Traffic Hazard 11:05:27 03/07/21
A Lopez Island Deputy was called regarding a tree that had broken in the wind and fallen into overhead utility wires along Fisherman Bay Rd. An OPALCO crew also responded and cleared the tree from the lines.
21-001947 Agency Assistance 12:25:22 03/07/21
A Lopez Island Deputy was called to assist with traffic control while a tow truck recovered a vehicle that had driven off the road on a blind curve along Center Rd.
21-001955 Accident-Injury, Traffic 16:38:58 03/07/21
San Juan Deputies responded to a single-vehicle collision on San Juan Valley Road. The driver was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to the hospital and later arrested for that crime.

21-001962 Domestic Dispute or Assault 08:00:10 03/08/21
A Lopez Island Deputy was called to a domestic disturbance. The conflict was verbal only, and no allegation or indication of any crime having been committed. One of the parties involved left afterwards to allow for time and space. An information report was taken.
21-001965 Accident, Fatal Traffic 09:09:52 03/08/21
A Deputy on San Juan responded to a report of a single vehicle collision. The driver was found deceased at the scene. Upon investigation the incident appeared to be a tragic accident and no foul play is suspected at this time.

A Deputy on Lopez was dispatched to investigate bones that were found on a beach. The bones were analyzed by an anthropologist and determined to be non-human.

A Deputy on San Juan took a report of an attempted fraud. There was no monetary loss due to inaction by the reporting party.

A San Juan Deputy checked the welfare of two foster children living in Friday Harbor. The children were found to be safe and well cared for. A report documenting the findings was filed.

A Lopez Island Deputy responded to a domestic disturbance. Upon investigation, the dispute was verbal only, with no allegation of indication of a crime having occurred. An information report was taken.

A Lopez Island Deputy was called about a parking issue in Lopez Village.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of found property in Friday Harbor. The property was entered into evidence as no owner could be located.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a complaint of a suspicious person at a resort office. The person committed no crime, but caused alarm with the staff. The man left prior to the Deputy’s arrival. The man was later identified and issued a trespass warning for the property.

An Orcas Deputy contacted a citizen about a social media incident that had occurred. A report was taken.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of fraud. The reporting party knew that the call was fraudulent and did not provide any personal information to the caller. The incident was documented.
21-002004 Burglary – Residential 15:11:23 03/09/21
San Juan Deputies took a report of a residential burglary in Friday Harbor. The victim was off island, and was reporting the crime telephonically. Information was taken, and the investigation is ongoing.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10
1-002017 Domestic Dispute or Assault 00:41:20 03/10/21
A Deputy was dispatched to a Domestic in the Friday Harbor area. The reporting Deputy arrived but the person refused the answer the door. Finally Deputies were able to make contact with the people involved. After interviewing everyone, the Deputies found no crime had been committed.

A Deputy on Orcas Island was dispatched to a report of trespassing near in Eastsound. A report was filed and the case was referred to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for charging consideration.
