A Lopez Deputy responded to a threats call. A middle-aged man called to report that his elderly mother has been sending him threatening messages. A report was taken.
23-002070 Domestic Dispute or Assault 12:02:57 03/29/23
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a possible domestic incident; shouting was heard from a specific area. Parties in the area were contacted and reported no sounds of fighting were heard.
23-002075 Theft 14:10:43 03/29/23
A Deputy took a report of a stolen license plate from a vehicle. The information was gathered and the plate information was entered into a law enforcement database.

A Deputy on San Juan responded to a harassment call. An individual kept seeing the same vehicle and driver in the same area they were in and did not want to pursue criminal charges. The Deputy spoke with the vehicle owner who explained they work in the area in question. A report was completed.

A dog-at-large was brought to the Sheriff’s Office. The owner was known and the dog was returned. A warning letter was issued to the dog owner explaining the laws regarding the subject.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a welfare check reported by the 988 Crisis Line. An investigation ensued to discover who the phone belonged to and where it was located. The caller was identified and contacted via telephone. A report was completed.

Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a vehicle theft call. The office is still waiting for a call from the registered owner of the vehicle. An informational report was taken.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of threats at a school. The investigation is ongoing.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of an order violation. After talking with the involved parties, the individual admitted to contacting the protected party in a way that prohibited by court order. The individual was issued a criminal citation for violating a no-contact order.

A San Juan Deputy took a report of harassment. The behavior did not meet the threshold of criminal activity; the incident was documented.

San Juan County Sheriff’s Office personnel cited a vessel anchored in Fisherman Bay with expired registration.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a theft call. An individual walked out of the grocery store without paying for a small bottle of vodka. They returned shortly after, claiming they forgot their wallet and offering to pay. A report was taken.

A Deputy observed a person with active warrants. The person was contacted and taken into custody without incident. The person was transported to the Sheriff’s office and booked into the holding facility. Report taken.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a walk-in report of harassment in relation to a previously reported threats call. The incident was documented.

San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a citizen dispute. No crime occurred and the incident was documented.

A Deputy responded to a reported bicycle theft in Eastsound. Two electric bicycles had gone missing and one bicycle had since been returned. An investigation into the details of the missing bikes is underway.
FRIDAY, MARCH 31
23-002131 Missing Person 09:24:16 03/31/23
An Orcas Island Deputy took a missing person report. The missing person was entered into the nation-wide data base for missing persons and a report was authored.
23-002135 Property Damage, Non Vandalism 10:34:03 03/31/23
San Juan Deputy responded to a report of property damage. A vehicle damaged a fence and left the scene without leaving contact information. Vehicle parts were collected at the scene; this incident is still under investigation.
23-002136 Wanted Person 11:13:48 03/31/23
A San Juan Deputy located a person with an outstanding warrant for their arrest. The person was booked into jail without incident.
23-002156 Threats 19:59:35 03/31/23
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of threats. No crime was committed and the alleged victim left prior to Deputies arriving.

23-002177 Fraud 16:45:32 04/01/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island was dispatched to a report of fraud. The investigation is ongoing.
23-002179 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 17:28:01 04/01/23
The Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious person on Shaw Island. Deputies responded. The suspicious person was contacted and identified. He left on the next ferry to Anacortes.
SUNDAY, APRIL 2
23-002186 Citizen Assist 08:03:05 04/02/23
An Orcas Island citizen reported two Amazon packages missing. It is unknown whether the packages were stolen or lost in shipping. The investigating Deputy completed a report.
23-002192 Burglary – Residential 11:03:33 04/02/23
An investigation of burglary revealed it is a civil case between mother and son. No further action taken.
23-002198 Court Order Violation 13:03:27 04/02/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island was dispatched to a report of a protection order violation. A report was taken and forwarded to the prosecuting attorney’s office.
23-002206 Sick or Injured Animal 17:50:59 04/02/23
A Deputy on Orcas responded to an animal sick call near the ferry landing. After a complete investigation, it was found to be in good health and an informational report was written.

A trespassing report was taken from King’s Market. No action is being taken at this time.
23-002240 Fraud 16:15:00 04/03/23
A Deputy on San Juan responded to a report of fraud. A fraudulent post was made in a Facebook group about a house for rent. The victim sustained a monetary loss and reported the activity to their bank. The victim was also advised to report the incident to the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center.

A Deputy on San Juan Island was dispatched to a report of a dog bite. A report was taken.
TUESDAY, APRIL 4
23-002252 Theft 09:02:21 04/04/23
A Deputy on Orcas Island was dispatched to a report of a theft. It was found that the coin hopper was broken into in the Village Green showers. A report was taken.
23-002256 Malicious Mischief 09:51:42 04/04/23
A vehicle parked behind King’s Market was vandalized. The incident was caught on video surveillance. The case is being referred to the Prosecuting Attorney for charges.
23-002270 Fraud 14:26:03 04/04/23
A Deputy on San Juan took a walk-in report of possible identity theft. The reporting party stated they received information their social security number was being used elsewhere. The Deputy advised they contact the credit bureaus and the social security department. A report was completed.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of theft, a street sign was stolen. Public works was notified, and a report was completed.
