16-001114 Traffic Hazard 16:32:39 03/02/16
A Lopez Island firefighter reported a vehicle broken down in the roadway on Center Rd, Lopez Island. When a deputy arrived, a tow truck was already on scene removing the hazard at the owners request. No further action taken.
16-001122 Court Order Violation 23:56:07 03/02/16
A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of an order violation. The suspect had left the area prior to arrival of Deputies. This case is still under investigation.

16-001124 Death Investigation 05:25:10 03/03/16
Deputies were dispatched to the Eastsound Fire Station reference a subject who was not breathing. When deputies arrived the subject was deceased. The County Prosecutor was notified.
16-001129 Litter/Pollution/Public Health 11:33:54 03/03/16
A Deputy received an illegal dumping complaint from a Lopez Island resident. The items were left in the 2200 block of Fisherman Bay Road. An effort is being made to locate the owner of the property so that appropriate enforcement action can be taken.
16-001130 Welfare Check 11:36:57 03/03/16
A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a welfare check. The Deputy determined that the person needed medical attention and summoned an aid car.
16-001132 Vehicle Prowl 15:05:09 03/03/16
A citizen in Friday Harbor reported a vehicle prowl. Currently there are no suspects or leads.
16-001142 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 18:32:39 03/03/16
A Deputy met with a Lopez Island resident regarding a suspicious package. It was subsequently determined that the package, which contained a missing juvenile poster, cryptic letter and journal, was mailed to the reporting person as a practical joke. No further action is needed.

16-001146 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 02:06:04 03/04/16
A Deputy responded to a Lopez Island residence on 03/04/16 after a reporting person stated they heard loud yelling. The Deputy located the source of yelling and determined that there was no emergency. The involved person apologized and stated he was yelling because he was upset at himself.
16-001161 Theft 16:26:21 03/04/16
An unknown person removed an iPad from an unlocked Eastsound home. The iPad was later left outside the house, and it is unknown who took it at this time.

16-001164 Traffic Stop 01:09:26 03/05/16
A SJC Sheriff Deputy conducted an early morning traffic stop along Olga Road, Eastsound. Further investigation revealed probable cause to believe the driver was impaired. The driver was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. His vehicle was impounded under mandatory WA State law.
16-001179 Found Property 16:00:02 03/05/16
A Lopez resident reported property found in her driveway. Property was booked for safekeeping.
16-001182 Court Order Violation 17:40:28 03/05/16
The reporting party contacted the Sheriff’s Office in reference to a possible Order Violation. After explaining the situation, there was no confirmed order violation but was a Harassment situation. The suspect was contacted and advised to not contact the victim.

A Deputy was dispatched to a non-injury collision in Friday Harbor. The driver was evaluated and released on scene and collision report was completed. No further.
16-001204 Traffic Stop 19:05:37 03/06/16
Deputy observed a white Dodge Durango which was parked in a parking stall at Country Corner off of Terrill Beach and Crescent Beach Road in Eastsound. Dispatch conducted a records check of the vehicle.
16-001205 Traffic Stop 19:51:24 03/06/16
Deputies while on patrol identified a subject who had a suspended driver’s license get into a vehicle at a local business, and take off. Deputies contacted the driver and cited for driving while license is suspended in the 3rd degree. Driver was released with a future court date.
16-001206 Accident-NonInj 19:52:21 03/06/16
A Lopez deputy was dispatched for a single vehicle vs. boulder collision. The owner had left the scene and was located safe at his residence. Vehicle is likely a total loss.

It was reported that an Eastsound resident wrote NSF checks to a local business.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report from a local business of an assault. The reporting party just wanted this documented and no further action is needed in this incident.
16-001219 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 16:58:37 03/07/16
A SJC Sheriff Deputy responded to an apparent vandalism and trespassing in Eastsound. A chain link fence had been cut by unknown person(s) and access was made to a private residence. The case is still under investigation.
16-001221 Unwanted Person 17:30:41 03/07/16
SJC Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to a complaint of an unwanted person. Upon arrival, the person was gone but was said to be with somebody he was believed to be restrained from being with. Ultimately it was determined that the suspect had not violated the conditions of the order.

A Lopez Island deputy was called to investigate a dispute between roommates that reportedly got so out of hand that the reporting parties had to climb out a window and flee for their safety. The incident remains under investigation until all involved can be interviewed.

A San Juan Island resident was found deceased in her residence. This incident occurred in Friday Harbor, WA.

A resident in the area of Cape San Juan, reported a female subject causing a disturbance on the grounds outside of her residence. Upon our arrival I observed a mentally ill subject in distress and in need of medical care. We were able to detain the subject and transport her for treatment.
16-001228 Animal at Large 07:16:28 03/08/16
On 3-8-16 at 0716 hours a Deputy in Friday Harbor received a complaint about a dog being at large. The Deputy contacted the owner of the dog and gave them a warning letter.
16-001230 Theft 08:29:23 03/08/16
A Deputy responded to a Lopez Island residence on 03/08/16 for a theft complaint. The reporting person stated several items were taken from her storage shed while she was away on a visit. The investigation continues.
16-001243 Accident-Injury, Traffic 18:10:09 03/08/16
A Friday Harbor resident drove her vehicle at a high rate of speed into a construction zone in downtown Friday Harbor, WA. Property damage was done and the suspect vehicle was overturned. The driver was transported to the ER. No other injuries were reported. Ongoing investigation.
