16-001387 Domestic Dispute or Assault 09:16:38 03/16/16
Deputies were dispatched to a verbal domestic in Friday Harbor. It was later determined the juvenile involved was determined mentally unstable and was transported to the Medical Center for treatment. No further at this time.
16-001410 Burn Investigation 20:54:39 03/16/16
A complaint was received regarding a Friday Harbor resident burning items that were causing small explosions and a chemical smell. The person responsible for the fire said he accidentally left some aerosol and paint cans in the fire. The resident was issued a citation for burning illegal items.
16-001411 Traffic Stop 21:08:01 03/16/16
A deputy observed a moving violation at an Eastsound intersection. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and determined the driver’s license was suspended 3rd degree, with prior convictions. Driver’s vehicle was impounded and the driver cited and released at scene.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched for a possible theft complaint. It was determined that nothing belonging to the reporting party was taken, and house access issues were found to be civil.
16-001420 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 11:49:24 03/17/16
Deputy collected an abandoned suitcase from the area of Malcolm Street and Argyle Avenue. I placed it into evidence as found property.
16-001423 Communications Problem 13:17:57 03/17/16
Deputy called an Orcas resident who is a care giver. The resident received a scam phone message claiming to be the US Treasury Department. The caregiver wanted the incident documented.
16-001428 Mental Health 15:41:35 03/17/16
Deputies responded to Peace Island Hospital to assist with a mental patient. Patient was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
16-001438 Domestic Dispute or Assault 21:18:05 03/17/16
Deputies responded to a Hummel Lake Road residence for a reported possible domestic violence incident. It was determined that there was an active party and that the reported yelling was most likely from a highly intoxicated resident. There was no evidence of a crime and Deputies departed.
16-001439 Accident-Injury, Traffic 21:45:29 03/17/16
Lopez deputies were dispatched for a report of a truck in the ditch and a subject seen stumbling along the roadway. Driver was not located that evening and the investigation continues.
16-001440 Trouble Unknown 22:54:27 03/17/16
A Deputy responded to a Hummel Lake Road, Lopez Island residence for a suspicious circumstance complaint involving a 911 hang up. The responding Deputy contacted residents and determined that the 911 call was made accidentally. No additional action was required.

A Deputy was dispatched to Suspicious Circumstances in Friday Harbor. The incident happened earlier in the morning, unknown suspect. No further information at this time.

Deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Beaverton Valley Road for speeding 56 MPH in the posted 35 MPH zone. Infraction was issued to the driver.

A Deputy was dispatched to a theft in Friday Harbor,WA. According to reporting party, two items were taken. No suspects or further information at this time.
16-001481 Traffic Stop 12:08:38 03/19/16
A deputy initiated a traffic stop on vehicle within Friday Harbor for failing to wear safety belt. The driver received an infraction for failing to wear safety belt, no valid driver’s license, expired registration over 2 months and operate a motor vehicle without insurance.
16-001487 Attempted Suicide 13:29:11 03/19/16
Deputy was dispatched to a possible suicide attempt in the Eastsound area. The subject was contacted. A Mental Health Professional was called to the scene to evaluate the person.

Lopez Island deputies observed suspicious activity at a derelict building. Upon further investigation three local youth were contacted and warned for trespassing. No further action was taken.

A Deputy initiated a traffic stop in Friday Harbor. The driver was issued infractions for fail to stop at stop sign and no proof of insurance.

A Deputy was dispatched to a report Found Property in Friday Harbor. Items were located and booked into the evidence room in the Sheriff’s Office. Investigation continues.
16-001527 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 13:57:26 03/20/16
A Lopez Island deputy was dispatched on a report of a woman screaming near Woodmen Hall on Fisherman Bay Rd. After the thorough check of the area, nobody in distress was found. Checking back with the reporting party, the screaming woman may have been inside a passing car.
16-001528 Court Order Violation 15:28:01 03/20/16
A Lopez Island deputy observed a possible violation of a Domestic Violence Protection Order at a Lopez Island business. Upon further investigation, the circumstances did not violate the provisions of the court order. No enforcement action was taken.
16-001533 Mental Health 17:14:06 03/20/16
Reporting deputy was dispatched to a Trespassing in the San Juan area. The reporting deputy contacted the involved party. The incident was unfounded.
16-001537 Traffic Stop 20:04:59 03/20/16
Deputies observed a vehicle in the Eastsound area speeding. When Deputies contacted the driver and completed their investigation it was determined the driver was impaired. The driver was arrested and eventually released with a future court date.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a burglary. Nothing was taken from the business and there are no suspects.

Lopez Island deputies investigated a 911 hang up call. The source of the cell phone call was not determined, but nearby residences were checked to ensure there was nobody trying to access emergency services. No further action necessary.

An Eastsound resident reported a credit card fraud case that occurred last week. A report was made. Investigation continues.
16-001569 Accident-NonInj 20:37:41 03/22/16
Deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident that occurred in the Eastsound area. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver resisted efforts to be arrested. He was taken into custody after a struggle and was booked into the SJC jail.
