An Orcas Island Deputy collected suspected Methamphetamine from a citizen who located it while cleaning an abandoned house. The suspected methamphetamine was booked into evidence for destruction.

Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a domestic incident on a boat. The Deputies boarded the Sheriff’s Office boat and attempted to locate the boat in the surrounding areas. The vessel was not located; neighboring agencies were notified and were sent a photograph of the boat. A report was completed

A Lopez Deputy investigated property damage caused by a vehicle driving off the roadway. There are no suspects at this time.

A Lopez Deputy received a second hand complaint regarding shoreline access for kayakers via private property. The kayakers complaint is not supported by any available documentation.

A missing person was reported on Orcas Island. He was located unharmed after a joint search effort involving San Juan Sheriff’s Units, Orcas Fire and Rescue Units, a United States Coast Guard helicopter crew and citizen volunteer searchers.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of fraud. The victim provided a statement and the incident was documented per their request.

A Lopez Deputy responded when a concerned citizen discovered what was either an old road flare or an old stick of dynamite on recently purchased property. The Lopez Deputy contacted a Washington State Patrol bomb squad member, who plans to send bomb technicians to Lopez Island.

Deputies and Orcas Fire and Rescue personnel responded to Sucia Island for a person experiencing a mental health crisis.

A Lopez resident called about a boat moored to the wrong buoy. The owner was located and the boat was moved.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a person yelling and scaring people in the town of Friday Harbor. The individual was located and asked to provide a breath sample per their court ordered conditions, the individual refused. A report was completed.

An Orcas Island Deputy issued a County Parking Violation to a boat illegally moored at the Eastsound Dock Spur.
22-004396 Animal at Large 12:48:12 07/03/22
A found dog was turned over to a Lopez Deputy. The dog was not wearing a collar. Attempts will be made to locate the owner.
22-004397 Domestic Dispute or Assault 13:12:16 07/03/22
Deputies on Orcas Island responded to a reported Domestic incident. The incident was determined to be a behavioral and parenting issue. The parent was referred to a counseling service.

A Canadian resident reported having discovered a loan taken out on her account. Since she resides in Canada and her bank is there, she was advised we do not have jurisdiction to investigate her complaint. She was advised to report to her local law enforcement agency.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of harassment. Someone made multiple fake contest flyers and wrote the victims phone number on it and posted them in Friday Harbor. The victim received many unwanted calls. The fliers were located and removed. An investigation is ongoing.

Orcas Island Deputies were dispatched to a trespassing call at an Eastsound Business. The subject was trespassed from the property. A report was taken.
22-004419 Disorderly Conduct 22:56:15 07/03/22
Lopez Deputies responded to a disorderly conduct call. A physical altercation occurred at the Islander bar. Upon arrival, both involved parties had left the scene. According to witness statements, a woman stuck a man in the face who was persistently flirting with her and her friend.
MONDAY, JULY 4
22-004422 Domestic Dispute or Assault 03:20:54 07/04/22
A Deputy was dispatched to a Domestic in the Friday Harbor area. The Deputy arrived and contacted the people involved. The incident was verbal only at this time and there was no indications of any crimes
being committed. Report taken.
22-004430 Vagrancy 12:57:12 07/04/22
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a subject yelling. When the Deputy arrived, they observed the subject with an open alcohol container. The subject is on court ordered release conditions not to possess or consume alcohol. An infraction was issued.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a male yelling at people in Friday Harbor. The individual was located and asked to provide a breath sample per their court ordered conditions, the individual refused. A report was completed.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of an order violation. After speaking with both parties, it was determined that there was a violation of a court order. A report was completed and was sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.

Deputies on San Juan Island responded to an agency assist in Roche Harbor. The US Coast Guard detained a boat operator for driving a boat while under the influence. The individual was taken into custody by Deputies and was transported to the San Juan County Jail without incident.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a male calling people vulgar names in Friday Harbor. The individual was located and asked to provide a breath sample per their court ordered conditions, the individual refused. A report was completed.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a court order violation. The victim reported that contact had been made in the form of aggressive behavior and a verbal insult. A Probable Cause Statement was sent to the Prosecutor for charging.

A Deputy was dispatched to a BUI in the San Juan Island area. Another agency had made contact and the initial arrest. The person was transported to the Sheriff’s Office and processed for BUI. The person was released on a citation for BUI. Report taken.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of disorderly conduct. An individual was urinating in the bushes next to the music venue, which is property of the port. The Port wished to trespass the individual from all port properties. The person signed the letter but yelled a lot about it.

An Orcas Island Deputy was dispatched to a burglary call in the Eastsound area. Cash has been stolen out of an unlocked vehicle in the owner’s driveway. Other items were stolen from a nearby trailer. A report was taken. The investigation is ongoing.

A Deputy responded to a Found Property call in Friday Harbor. The property was entered into the property room per policy and report completed.
22-004478 Aircraft Problem 15:23:46 07/05/22
Deputies on San Juan Island responded to the Roche Harbor airport for a seaplane that landed without putting the landing gear down. No one was injured, the plane was lifted so the landing gear could come down. The pilot taxied off the runway. FAA and NTSB were contacted. A report was completed.

Deputies on Lopez responded to a domestic call. Upon investigation, the incident was determined to be non-criminal. A report was taken.

I was on duty as a Deputy with the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office. I was in uniform driving a marked patrol vehicle. I was dispatched to a vandalism call reported by Amanda Wedow, who works for the Land Bank.

A Deputy on Lopez Island responded to a report of a vehicle collision. The parties exchanged information and the incident was documented for insurance purposes.
22-004496 Wanted Person 10:43:41 07/06/22
A wanted person turned themselves in at the Orcas sub-station. They posted their bail and received a new court date. A report was taken.
22-004499 Citizen Dispute 14:32:43 07/06/22
A black Audi SUV attempted to cut in front of other vehicles in the ferry line. The driver was argumentative with ferry staff, but eventually left knowing that law enforcement had been called.

A Deputy on San Juan Island issued infractions to three vessels for not having the required mooring permit for the county dock in Roche Harbor.
