A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a hit and run. The Deputy documented the incident and currently there are no suspects in this case.
16-004322 Trespassing 15:00:55 06/29/16
A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of an unwanted person at a business on Spring St. The person was contacted and was given a trespass warning from the business.
16-004321 Malicious Mischief 15:01:31 06/29/16
A deputy responded to a report of vandalism that occurred inside a residence in Eastsound. The suspect was contacted and interviewed. The property owner decided against prosecution with the agreement the subject will move out. Settled by contact.
16-004324 Traffic Violation 15:23:05 06/29/16
A group of bicyclists visiting from the Portland area reported being intentionally menaced by a driver on Orcas Island. The same vehicle drove past the cyclists on two occasions, nearly striking the bicycles. One cyclist had a year-old infant in a trailer. The case is under investigation.

Deputies responded to a residence on Lopez Sound Road for a 911 call hang up. It was determined that a confused juvenile dialed 911 while his parent was not present with him in the room where a telephone was located. There was no emergency and the Deputies departed. A report was completed.
16-004328 Welfare Check 16:01:31 06/29/16
Deputies responded to a Welfare check of a person in Friday Harbor. After making contact with the individual, Deputies saw that everything was fine.
16-004332 Unwanted Person 21:28:16 06/29/16
I responded to an unwanted person in Friday Harbor. The subject was inebriated and returned to the house several times after being told to leave. The subject was identified and found to have court ordered alcohol conditions. This incident will be referred to the Prosecutors Office.

Deputy responded to number 1 Front street to recover a day pack. The item was
placed in evidence for safe keeping.

16-004341 Probation/Parole Violation 07:44:33 06/30/16
A deputy made contact with a male on Spring St. at Price St. This individual was in violation of conditions of his probation as set fourth by the court. This incident happened in Friday Harbor.
16-004342 Probation/Parole Violation 08:06:05 06/30/16
On 6-30-26 at 0806 hours a Deputy in Friday Harbor observed a subject that was
violating the terms of his release conditions. The person was consuming and
possessing alcohol. The case was sent to probation for their follow up.
16-004346 Accident-Injury, Traffic 11:42:29 06/30/16
A vehicle passed a bicyclist closer than the rider liked on Orcas. The rider hit the side mirror of the vehicle with his hand, which caused the rider to lose control and crash. The rider was flown off island for a concussion.
16-004350 Threats 12:18:24 06/30/16
Deputies responded to a verbal argument between relatives at a residence on
Richardson Road. One of the involved persons called 911 after she felt threatened. Witness statements indicated the reporting person was the aggressor. There was no evidence of a crime and a report was completed.
16-004359 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 15:59:23 06/30/16
This deputy was contacted by a concerned citizen regarding suspicious activity between a male subject and her 8-year old son. This incident happened in Friday Harbor.
16-004360 Domestic Dispute or Assault 16:11:33 06/30/16
Deputies were dispatched to a domestic assault in Friday Harbor. After further investigation an arrest was made for Domestic Assault 4th Degree.
16-004378 Custodial Interference 21:26:52 06/30/16
Deputies responded to report of custodial interference on Orcas Island. After further investigation the incident was settled by contact.
16-004383 Citizen Assist 23:34:59 06/30/16
A mother brought her teenage daughter to the Sheriff’s Office in Friday Harbor because she feels her daughter is at risk. I advised them I would provide their information to juvenile services so they can be put in touch with services for their needs.

A Deputy was dispatched to a report of Theft of Mail. It was found that one of the items may possibly have been recovered. Investigation continues.

16-004425 Traffic Stop 00:21:13 07/02/16
A SJC Sheriff Deputy conducted a traffic stop in Eastsound for defective tail lights. Further investigation revealed there was probable cause to believe the driver was Driving under the Influence of Alcohol. The driver was arrested and booked into jail. The vehicle was impounded.
16-004427 Welfare Check 00:59:29 07/02/16
A Deputy responded to the 2700 block of Fisherman Bay Road to investigate a report of a woman yelling for help. It was determined the woman fell and injured herself while walking her dogs on the beach. EMS responded and She was flown off island for further medical evaluation.
16-004436 Boating Problem 12:29:48 07/02/16
Emergency responders on Lopez Island were sent to Iceberg Point on a report of a kayaker in distress offshore. The kayaker was able to safely reach land and declined further assistance. The kayaker was evaluated by a paramedic. No further action was taken.
16-004456 Threats 16:23:54 07/02/16
An Eastsound resident reported that he received threats from a friend. No action requested at this time.
16-004464 Domestic Dispute or Assault 18:15:10 07/02/16
Lopez deputies were dispatched to a possible domestic dispute in front of the Galley Restaurant. Altercation appeared to be between intoxicated subjects who were friends. Subjects separated and released.
16-004472 Animal Bite 19:48:53 07/02/16
A Deputy was dispatched to OIFR Station 21 to meet the victim of a minor dog bite to his foot. The dog is a family pet. The victim was evaluated by OIFR and then treated by a local Physician. A report was made.

A deputy was dispatched to the San Juan Island area in reference to a theft. Several items were taken while the victims were in a bar. A report was taken and victims provided a case number. No suspects at this time.
16-004503 Theft 15:46:22 07/03/16
An Eastsound business found that items were stolen from the store by unknown persons.
16-004507 Theft 18:33:37 07/03/16
A Lopez deputy received a reported theft of a bicycle. A report was taken.

An Eastsound resident reported the theft of prescription medication. The investigation continues.
16-004547 Vicious Animal 16:50:45 07/04/16
Lopez deputies were dispatched to a report of a dog attacking another dog. The victim dog received a minor injury and the owner of the suspect dog was issued a warning letter.
16-004577 Found Property 23:41:52 07/04/16
SJC Sheriff Deputies took possession of a lost wallet. Identification was found and the wallet is being held as safekeeping until the property owner can be contacted.

Deputies in Friday Harbor reported to a threats complaint. After talking with the involved parties it was deemed a civil matter.
16-004595 Animal at Large 11:48:13 07/05/16
A Lopez Island man reported that 2 dogs were chasing deer near his home. The dogs were gone when the deputy arrived, and were not located or identified.
16-004598 Information Report 12:32:16 07/05/16
A Lopez Island man reported an incident of road rage/threats that occurred after the fireworks show on Lopez Island. The matter is under investigation.
16-004603 Theft 15:13:01 07/05/16
An Eastsound woman reported someone had entered her parked vehicle and stolen cash. Investigation continues.
16-004615 Runaway Juvenile 20:35:24 07/05/16
A Lopez island resident reported her juvenile as a runaway. The missing juvenile was located and reunited with her mother. A report was completed.
16-004619 Theft 22:29:26 07/05/16
A Deputy responded to a resort in Eastsound in regards to stolen medications from a room. A housekeeper is suspected and was terminated by the resort owner. A report was taken.
